Move over, Judge Judy — there is a new judge in town, Judge Faith Jenkins, a Miss America runner-up, who will host her own new reality courtroom drama, Judge Faith, this coming fall. It will premiere in more than 90 percent of the top markets in the United States on September 22. Depending on the region, Judge Faith will appear on NBC, Fox, ABC, CBS, My Net, CW and IND. Judge Faith Jenkins will bring her brand of tough love and her no-nonsense style of justice and analysis into her courtroom for viewers all across America.
Before becoming a well-known and respected lawyer, then a judge, Faith Jenkins was the former Miss Louisiana as well as the First Runner Up to Miss America in 2001. She made history as the only contestant in the pageant’s history to be awarded all three of the following awards: Swimsuit, Talent (for singing a rendition of Nancy Wilson’s classic If I Could), and the coveted Quality of Life National Community Service Award for her volunteer work in literacy and education.Judge Faith has lent her extensive legal analysis to reports on some of America’s most high-profile cases on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. At the same time, she was continuing her career as a successful Wall Street litigator and criminal prosecutor.
Faith Jenkins graduated with a with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Louisiana Tech University and a J.D. from Southern University’s law school in Baton Rouge, LA, where she ranked #1 in her law class. Once she graduated from law school, Faith landed a job as a litigator at Sidley Austin, one of the most prestigious law firms in the country, where she helped represent numerous high-profile clients in a diverse array of complex commercial litigation matters.
Faith Jenkins was a Wall Street litigator for five years. Then, she joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s office as a criminal prosecutor. Faith prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including indicting and prosecuting a multitude of violent crimes. She developed the reputation as being a tough but fair trial attorney. Now, Faith is back into private practice with a New York litigation firm.
According to Executive Producer Kathy Sapp, Judge Faith “has legal savvy and depth of knowledge that will be a breath of fresh air in our television justice system. Faith is young, smart and genuinely cares about people and the law.
The cases which Judge Faith will be presiding over include ones taken from small claims courts across the United States. Calling upon her extensive experience, Faith will make rulings based on the law and past rulings in similar legal cases. Viewers will get first-time access to genuine and captivating courtroom drama.
Some of the cases that Judge Faith will rule on will be ones involving social media, like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Judge Faith’s professional and personal experiences give her a unique voice that will set Judge Faith apart from other courtroom drama television series.
Judge Faith will begin its premiere season on September 22. Faith Jenkins and her courtroom bailiff, Barbra Carlisle, will bring a new take on reality TV-style courtroom dramas this coming September.
