On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy’s guests were comedian Bill Cosby and pro golfers Rory Mcllroy and Tiger Woods. His musical guests were Royksopp and Robyn. Jimmy Fallon played a new game with Mcllroy called Facebreakers. Tiger Woods watched them play as his back was injured. Tonight’s episode turned out to be a great start to the week!
Jimmy Fallon opened up his monologue by joking about Texas Governor Rick Perry. “He’s now the most controversial Governor in America, which is why he got a gift basket from Governor Chris Christie.”
Fallon went on to say: “I read that several of the New York Jets are using the Tinder dating app to meet women. Some of their pick-up lines are pretty funny.”
Some of the “pick-up lines” that Jimmy Fallon said included: “Eli Manning: ‘If you date me I’ll let you meet my brother.'”
“Tom Brady: ‘No thanks; I’m good.'”
“Peyton Manning: ‘You know what they say about guys with big foreheads.'”
Jimmy Fallon talked about Toronto Mayor Rob Ford doing the ALS Icebucket Challenge. Fallon showed a video clip. The bucket was really a garbage can, which two guys had to pick up to dump over Ford’s head.
He said that tomorrow night, Pierce Brosnan will be a guest on the show and Good Charlotte will be the musical guest. Fallon then announced that Bill Cosby will be a guest on tonight’s show. and that “two giants of the golfing world, Rory Mcllroy and Tiger Woods” will also be on the show and play a new game called Facebreakers.
When The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon came back from a commercial break, Fallon introduced his first guest who he called a comedy legend” and “the great Bill Cosby.”
Bill did a little dance to the Cosby Show Theme Song that The Roots played as he walked to his chair. “I don’t understand the intelligence of a moth,” Cosby said. “I think I heard you doing it again. These people — the pain — they hurt you, James!”
Bill appeared to be launching into his own monologue, or rather a summation to the jury. He addressed the audience as “the members of the jury,” asking them if Jimmy Fallon “did a certain impersonation of a person,” — while Fallon was behind him impersonating some of Cosby’s mannerisms. Cosby got Jimmy to crack up, messing with him and calling him “little Jimmy Fallon.”
After The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon came back from another commercial break, Fallon thanked Bill Cosby for being there. “Honestly, I didn’t think you would be coming back,” Fallon says to him.
“Why?” Cosby asked.
“Because I jumped on your back as you were pretending to walk on a tightrope,” Jimmy said. Bill Cosby had been pretending to be walking on a tightrope.
“I want to thank you because it helped my lower lumber region. You and I didn’t know, but you were helping me make an adjustment,” Cosby told him.
Fallon asked Cosby if he “ever played Scrabble.” That got Cosby to start talking about the game more.
“You ever play Scrabble with people drinking heavily?” Cosby asked.
“Yes,” Jimmy Fallon says.
Cosby mumbled as if he was drunk, as if players who are drunk make up words. “Have you ever played Scrabble with someone who smokes cannabis?” he asked. “After every word, the forget the word they just played and they say ‘oh, wow.'”
“The most frightening thing you can hear from your wife, on your birthday, when you’re ‘carrying on,'” Bill Cosby says “at age 77 — you understand? — from a wife who is seven years younger than you — is, ‘to keep going,'” Cosby says.
Jimmy Fallon’s next guests were the amazing pro golfers Rory Mcllroy and Tiger Woods. “Tiger has won 14 major PGA Championships. To my right, this guy has borught his total PGA Championships to four.” Fallon asks Tiger about a back injury he has an dTiger tells him that it will keep him from swinging a club for the rest of the year.
Then, Jimmy Fallon gloated about beating Tiger Woods the last time he was one in one of Tiger Wood’s video games. He showed the video clip of that happening.
“What did you learn from the master?” Jimmy asked Mcllroy. “What did you learn from Tiger?”
“It makes you appreciate how hard he’s worked and how dominant he’s been in the game,” Rory answers.
Jimmy then said “We have the new Nike Vaper Irons here.” He asked Tiger and Rory about the clubs, because they helped design them. Rory says “I had the prototype of the 2 Iron in my bag and it helped me win.”
They will play Facebreakers using the new clubs. The first one to break all of the opponents’ faces, which are on square plates, will be the winner. Tiger had to sit the game out because of his back injury.
Rory went first, breaking one of Jimmy’s “faces.” Jimmy went next and missed; then, Rory went and missed. They went at this few a couple of minutes or so; then, at the sound of a horn, Fallon said “Was that a horn? Just go ahead and start hitting.” They both kept swinging their golf clubs, with Tiger watching. Rory won, of course.
“Congrats, my man,” Jimmy says. “We have a trophy for you,”
A lady walked onto the stage with the trophy, already engraved with Rory’s name on it. “What? His name is already engraved on it?” Jimmy asked, wondering about his staff not having “faith in him.” Then, the Tonight Show went to yet another commercial break.
Back from break, performing the title track from their mini-album Do It Again, Royksopp and Robyn sang. They were pretty terrific; it sounded like a great song. They had a cool laser light show and there were images that played behind them as Robyn sang with Royksopp. She was very energetic and danced around a lot.
That was basically the end of this Monday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, though Fallon came back after one final break and thanked all of his guests. Bill Cosby is still looking pretty good for being as old as he is, 77. He is still a funny guy and is still doing stand-up shows at comedy clubs.
Though Tiger Woods was, sadly, injured and could not play Facebreakers, the game between Jimmy Fallon and Rory Mcllroy was entertaining to watch, even knowing that the whole game was set up. The trophy was already engraved with Mcllroy’s name on it. The Nike Vapor Clubs look like they will be hot sellers when they become more widely available. Royksopp and Robyn were highly entertaining and their mini-album, Do It Again, is likely going to be a big seller.
