American Horror Story: Freakshow New Trailer Gives Little Insight

American Horror Story: Freakshow

The new full trailer for American Horror Story: Freakshow has given very little insight into the story for this season. There are just glimpses of some of the characters involved, but no look into their personalities and the interaction between each one.

So far, all that is really known is that the show will do a jump back in time to 1952. It was expected considering the show seems to do a series in the present day and then one in the past. Last season was set predominately in the present day, with the odd flash to the past. In season two, there were just the odd flashes to the present day with most of it set in the 1960s.

Up until now, there have been odd teasers for the show. One of them included a very scary looking clown, which will have those scared of clowns hiding behind their hands. Another included a contortionist with three legs, although she was not seen in the full-length trailer.

Jessica Lange has given very little away about her probable last character on the TV show. She recently announced that she was not planning on doing any more seasons after the current one, which will be disappointing for many. She, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters have appeared in all four seasons so far, with Lange taking the main role in all.

While the new trailer for American Horror Story: Freakshow has given little insight into the story, viewers have the chance to see their favorite actors and actresses in costume. Paulson will play conjoined twins, who share a full body by the looks of things. While it is a rare sight today, the twins would have certainly ended up in something like a carnival in the 1950s.

Fans of Kathy Bates will be excited to find out that she is returning. The Titanic actress played Madame Delphine LaLaurie, loosely based on the historical sadistic woman of the same name, in season three. She is playing the bearded lady this time around, who is known as Ethel Darling.

It is unclear what type of character Peters will be. His character is called Jimmy Darling, so one can presume he will be related to the bearded lady in some way. It is expected that he is the son of Bates’ character and the strong man, played by Michael Chiklis. Angela Basset is also making a return, playing a three-breasted woman.

Other favorites from previous seasons making a return in American Horror Story: Freakshow include Katie Brewer, Denis O’Hare and Francis Conroy. Emma Roberts is also making another appearance, although her character is yet unknown except the name, Maggie. She was not in the new trailer; at least clearly if she was in there somewhere.

It is certainly setting up to be a freaky season this year. The writers never disappoint in changing the story and making it something better than the year before. Add to that the fact that the seasons are unique to anything else currently out there, and it is understandable why so many people are excited about this season’s American Horror Story: Freakshow despite the new trailer not giving much of an insight into the story.

Evan Peters character has deformed hands – it’s very subtle in the trailer. Lange’s character appears to have no arms on the poster that features all of the main characters. Gonna have to watch the trailer again to know for sure!
