Ashley Tisdale, the star of the most successful Disney Channel Original Movie series in history, High School Musical, is now a married woman. Tisdale married the Annie Automatic music star, Christopher French after a full year of engagement on September 8, 2014.
Tisdale and French held a highly-secretive ceremony that was said to have taken place in Santa Barbara at a private residence. The couple conducted their wedding under high security, requiring all guests to forfeit any phones or cameras before entering the event. The guests were also reportedly shuttled to the ceremony from their original parking destination.
The newlyweds are said to have begun dating two years ago in 2012. French had proposed to Tisdale in August of 2013 in New York City where the couple was repeatedly sighted and followed by the paparazzi. Not a word was breathed about the wedding date, however Tisdale made an epic reveal on her own by posting a photo via Instagram of the newlywed couple just after they recited their vows. Tisdale’s photo features her new husband in a classic black suit and the young actress in a shoulder-strapped white wedding gown sporting a crown of flowers around her blonde locks that fall freely to her shoulders.
One of Tisdale’s High School Musical co-stars, Vanessa Hudgens, attended the wedding. Hudgens and Tisdale have been said to have remained close friends ever since the High School Musical saga began. Hudgens served as a bridesmaid to her dear friend and stated that she feels the newlyweds are inspiring and an excellent match for one another.
Ashley Tisdale is known mostly for her role as the devious Sharpay Evans in High School Musical, however the recently married woman has a variety of roles under her belt. Tisdale began her involvement with Disney on the television show, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, in which she played the comical hotel candy store clerk, Maddie Fitzpatrick.
Since graduating from the High School Musical series, the 29-year-old starlet has starred in a great number of hit TV shows and films such as Sons of Anarchy, Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night, Scary Movie 5 alongside Charlie Sheen, and is set to star in the upcoming comedy series, Buzzy’s, in 2015. Tisdale also remains a fan favorite as the voice of Candace on the popular animated Disney TV series, Phineas and Ferb.
In addition to a successful career as an actress, Tisdale has achieved the title of musician as well. Her first solo studio album, Headstrong, accomplished the feat of setting her apart from the Disney image by establishing her as an independent Hollywood starlet. The Album features the song, “He Said She Said” which amounted to decent success on top music charts. Her sophomore album, Guilty Pleasure, displayed an edgier and more adult side of Tisdale and also includes the popular singles, “It’s Alright, It’s Ok” and “Crank It Up”.
Ashley Tisdale, the High School Musical sweetheart, is now a grown-up and married woman. Fans can wish Tisdale all the best in the next chapter of her life as a newlywed, as well as catch her on television in Buzzy’s in 2015.
