Actress and singer, Hilary Duff has released a statement informing fans that she is “totally open” to the idea of reprising her character from the popular Disney Channel TV series, Lizzie McGuire. Duff, who rose to fame by creating the character of Lizzie McGuire has since moved on to accomplish many feats within the acting and music scene of Hollywood, this reunion of the show’s principal cast would be the first glimpse of Lizzie McGuire since the show ended in 2004.
The topic of Lizzie McGuire arose when Duff was questioned by The Huffington Post if the character would play any part in the actress’s future. Duff responded very enthusiastically by adding that the character was loved by so many people and she sees no reason why she should not bring Lizzie back to life. Duff reassured the press that her schedule is very busy at the moment, but would not be against the reunion at all.
After Duff finished her run as a child star on the Disney Channel, the actress continued to star and guest star in a number of feature films and television series. Some of Duff’s most notable and popular works include that of A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, The Perfect Man and the Cheaper by the Dozen remakes alongside Steve Martin.
In addition to a successful line of work as an actress, Duff made her mark on the music industry by releasing multiple albums that included several number one hits and other variations of success. Duff’s first solo album, Metamorphosis included the well-known tunes of Why Not and So Yesterday. Duff continued to grow and mature as a musician, releasing four more studio albums: Hilary Duff, Most Wanted, Dignity and Best of Hilary Duff. Dignity marked Duff’s first stab at transitioning to an adult artist with a collection of songs that were composed by the singer herself that also reflected a darker side of Duff. The majority of the tracks from Dignity were brought to life from the painful breakup from then-boyfriend Joel Madden.
Since the high point of Duff’s career, the star has taken a hiatus for a number of years to enjoy the simpler pleasures of life. In Duff’s absence from the limelight, the actress married hockey player Mike Comrie and gave birth to a baby boy named Luca. Duff’s child is now two and a half years old and the star has, reportedly, been undergoing divorce proceedings as of late.
Hilary Duff, undoubtedly, has a great amount of life experience to draw from since her leave of absence. The singer is now putting all of that experience into a new album. Two singles, Chasing the Sun and All About You have been released from the album and have proved to be a success. The Chasing the Sun music video has received over 20 million views on YouTube and Duff has been performing All About You on stages of notable clout such as The X-Factor.
While Hilary Duff reprising her Lizzie McGuire role still remains a mystery, fans of the young starlet will be able to get their fill when her album drops later this fall. Duff is also scheduled to return to TV alongside Broadway legend, Sutton Foster in a new series titled Younger. Hilary Duff may have been off the radar for quite some time, but the world has not heard the last of her just yet.
