American Photojournalist on Assignment in Africa Diagnosed With Ebola


An American photojournalist on assignment for NBC, in the African nation of Liberia, was diagnosed with Ebola on Thursday morning. The 33-year-old started working for the network on Tuesday and started exhibiting symptoms by Wednesday. He immediately quarantined himself and sought the advice of medical personnel. In less than 12 hours, results confirmed that he had tested positive.

The photojournalist has been working in Liberia for the past three years, and he is the fourth American to contract Ebola. He will be flown back to the United Stated where he will receive comprehensive treatment for the deadly disease. At this time, his identity has not been released, per his family’s request.
