Beyoncé: The Girl Behind the Fame and Fortune

BeyoncéDespite the fact that Beyoncé has it all, life was not always all sunshine and rainbows for her. Today, she is married to one of the most famous rappers in the world, Jay-Z, who she has a daughter with and Bey is loved by millions around the world. She is a role model to many girls out there and many of them do not know that Beyoncé had it really tough when she was growing up.

Even though she is one of the most beautiful women in the world, Beyoncé was very insecure when she was a child. Children were teasing her because of her ears, saying that her ears were bigger than her head. Because of that, Bey earned a nickname Dumbo. She was a chubby girl, with long hair and because she was convinced that other girls will cut off her beautiful hair, she wore them in a bun for the first six months of middle school. Her name comes from her mother’s maiden name, Beyincé. Because her mother Tina wanted to keep the name going, she named her daughter Beyoncé. However, Bey hated her name, since it became just another thing for children at school to pick on her.

When Beyoncé was 13 years old, her parents separated and her mother says that it was because of the fact that Bey’s father, Mathew, was over obsessed with his daughter’s career. The divorce of her parents really affected Beyoncé and she found comfort at their church in Huston. Even though her parents eventually reconciled, they divorced in 2010, after 31 years of marriage.

Beyoncé became very well-known with Destiny’s Child, however, after two of the original members of the band, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson left in quite a controversial way, it hit Bey terribly hard. She locked herself in her room and she struggled to eat. Beyoncé later admitted that she suffered from depression for nearly two years After they left the band, LaTavia and LeToya said that Bey was receiving special treatment in the band and that her mother Tina ordered them to darken their skin on tanning sessions. However, Bey hit back and she questioned LeToya’s and LaTavia’s singing skills and she even marked LeToya as tone-deaf.

Bey’s first boyfriend was a boy from her church group, Lyndall Locke. They began dating when she was 12 years old and despite the fact that their first kiss ‘sucked’, they were together for seven years. After their relationship ended, Lyndall admitted that he cheated on Beyoncé, because he did not feel worthy of her. Bey was glad that she did not lose her virginity to him and that she waited for that to happen until she was with Jay-Z.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z had their first sparks flowing in 2001, at the Vanity Fair shoot. For the first 18 months, their relationship was conducted only over the phone. They did not want to create a media circus, especially because of Jay-Z’s difficult background. He used to be a crack dealer and he even shot his brother in the shoulder, because he believed that stole his ring.

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter Blue Ivy, on January 7, 2012. Despite the fact that there were several rumors in the past few weeks, saying that Jay-Z cheated on Beyoncé, they seem to be stronger than ever before.
