Disney Infinity is the new video game sweeping the nation by storm and the title is set to make the lovable blue alien Stitch a playable character. Stitch will receive his very own vinyl figure that players can purchase to place on the Disney Infinity base and transport the character into the virtual world of the game.
Initially known as Experiment 626, Stitch made his way onto the list of famed Disney characters in 2002’s animated feature film Lilo & Stitch. The little creature was banished from his home planet and made his way to Earth where he meets a curious young girl named Lilo on the islands of Hawaii. Lilo befriends Stitch and the two embark on an unexpected adventure that allows them to become friends forever. The film ended up receiving a sequel and its very own animated TV series as well.
Stitch fits in perfectly with the Disney Infinity family as one of the game’s main purposes is to allow users to blend some of their favorite characters together within one world. The original marketing campaign for Lilo & Stitch featured the little blue guy crashing a number of iconic Disney moments. Some of the scenes Stitch took a visit to were the flying carpet scene from Aladdin, the ballroom dance from Beauty and the Beast and the fan-favorite moment of Ariel perched on a rock at the edge of the shore belting out “Part of Your World” amidst the waves.
The Stitch figure will have an array of amazing attacks and abilities that is sure to entice any action-loving gamer. The alien has the talents of very quick movement and can dodge, roll and jump all over the place within a blink of an eye. Stitch also has the ability to climb up walls and can even pull out his wickedly powerful blasters. Once leveled up a few times, Stitch can actually sprout an extra pair of arms just like in the original film for double the damage of melee attacks as well as ranged combat with his blasters.
Stitch will be available as a single figure, but is also included in the Disney Infinity Toy Box starter pack. This starter pack also includes a figure of the Brave princess Merida and two mini games that are themed after the worlds featured in both Lilo & Stitch and Brave. The starter pack will also have the 2.0 version of Disney Infinity along with the base that is use to place the vinyl figures on.
For those that do not know, the Toy Box within the game is a mode within Disney Infinity where players can let their imaginations run wild and completely create their very own world with enemies, levels, weapons, vehicles and more that are all created by the user. All objects that are used within the Toy Box are derived from a Disney, Pixar or Marvel brand and there are literally thousands of options to choose from.
The playable Stitch character as well as the Disney Infinity Toy Box starter pack will be released on Nov. 4. The original title as well as the Marvel Super Heroes sequel can now be purchased at local gaming retailers. A video featuring gameplay as Stitch can be viewed below.
