In an historical move, female employees have been given a choice for both their careers and their personal future. Apple and Facebook have both agreed to pay for ‘egg freezing.’
This benefit is worth approximately $20,000 and will allow their women employees to delay their choices until they alone decide whether or not to have a child.
In addition, Apple will offer extended maternity leave, assistance with the fertility process, and assistance with the adoption process.
Some female employees question the motives of the companies; others state that they relish the freedom of choice.
