Season three finale of Grimm brought an unexpected twist in its final minutes. Nick realized that he can no longer recognize a Wessen and it appeared that he lost his powers. In season four premiere, his friends told him that they will do everything to help him get his powers back and for now, Nick is just a normal cop, just like he was before his aunt passed him the Grimm torch.
After he was a Grimm for almost three years, Nick is now suddenly completely powerless. The trickiest thing is that despite the fact that he knows that monsters do exist, he cannot see them any more. He is still not quite sure how to feel about this whole situation. On one hand, he believes that maybe it is a good thing that he is not a Grimm any more, but on the other hand, he got really used to being a cop with some special powers. Now that his powers are gone, Nick seems to be feeling quite helpless sometimes.
When the season three wrapped up, many viewers said that the show became too predictable. In fact, they were not even wondering if Nick will get his powers back, because he was the star of the show and it was somehow logical that he will eventually become a Grimm again. However, the viewers did have some different opinions about how long it will take for Nick to get his powers back. While some believe that it may take up to half of the season before Nick becomes a Grimm again, some are more optimistic and they believe that he shuld have his powers back after four or five episodes.
Well, since Sean Renard was the only one who knew how to cure Nick, it will probably take some time before he gets his powers back, since Sean died in the season four premiere. Renard knew what was in the bottle that Trubel was supposed to deliver to Nick, but now that the situation has changed and the Captain is gone, the gang will have to find out which ingredients were in Sean’s potion. Well, while the gang is searching for cure, the show continues with powerless Nick. And most of the viewers do not like it.
The entire show was based on Nick being a Grimm. And the moment that he lost his powers, the show lost its purpose. Yes, Trubel is still around and she is helping Nick, but she is an addition and the main character is Nick – with powers. The whole point of this show was to see Nick getting familiar with new Wessen in each episode and figuring out a way to kill each one of them.
What is the point of this show now? To see how everyone is looking for cure and in the meantime, Trubel keeps on helping Nick out? This was not the concept of the show and despite the fact that it is still watchable, the viewers want to see the action and Wessen chasing. Hopefully, Nick will become Grimm again very soon, because it would be a shame to see this promising show losing its viewers because Nick and the gang will be looking for cure through almost entire season four.
