Jennifer Garner has a great tip for getting rid of unwanted ivy on one’s property — just hire a herd of 120 goats. That was her solution at her home in Hollywood Hills. The herd of goats did a remarkably good job at eating the ivy, which was the home of rats and other vermin. She might have some problems, but 120 goats are not one of them. Except, she did find out that they can be noisy.
It was a less expensive solution than having the ivy physically removed some other way and it was a “green” answer to the problem. Ben Affleck, her husband, did not like the idea of getting rid of the ivy as he thought it would prove to be expensive; but, Garner’s solution worked, and that is what counts. She sent a photo of the goats chowing down on the ivy to Affleck, who was shooting on location. She said that when she sent the photo, it was Affleck’s “first day on the Batman set.”
When she was a guest on the Conan O’Brien Show recently, Jennifer Garner, 42, told Conan that she and her kids invited some of their friends over and they had a party she called “The Running of the Goats.” The goats ate the ivy, the rats split, but Garner complained that the goats made a heck of a lot of noise. At times, a goat “mawing” underneath her window would cause her to wake up in the middle of the night. Also, with time, the ivy began to grow back.
Among other tidbits of information that Jennifer Garner, who is starring in the new movie, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, revealed to Conan was that she had often gone streaking before, in her college days at the Barn Theater School. There, she apprenticed under trained actors as she honed her acting skills. She revealed that the streaking would sometimes occur late at night, after plays she performed in.
Jennifer Garner told Conan she did not really know why she streaked back then, just that she “was in a naked frame of mind.” She told Conan that she and others “just all streaked, all summer.”
Garner asked Conan if he had ever streaked. Conan responded in his typically self-deprecating way by saying that he “was always encouraged to be clothed at all times.”
Jennifer Garner had previously revealed to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that her three kids had been sent home because of lice. Though Garner is a star, she seems to have problems that are similar to pretty much anybody else who is a parent raising children. She did figure out a solution to the problem of having too much ivy in her backyard, though — the eco-friendly one of hiring a herd of 120 goats to eat the problem ivy away.
Besides being one of the most amazing actresses around, Jennifer Garner is enjoying the domesticity of being a mom and taking care of household duties that many actors or actresses might pay someone else to do for them. She is still very glamorous, but Jennifer seems to have a level head on her shoulders and she certainly came up with a terrific solution to her ivy problem when she hired a herd of 120 goats to feast on the offending vegetation.
