Andy Dick

According to arrest records, comedian Andy Dick was arrested on Friday night in Hollywood, California, on charges of grand theft. The booking records indicate that Dick was arrested at 11:10 p.m. and the comedian posted a bail of $25,000 on Saturday morning at 5:00 a.m. LAPD Lieutenant Scott Murray has verified that Dick was arrested. He has a court date on December 4, 2014.

The LAPD released no further details about his arrest or booking. TMZ, who first reported the story, reported that Andy Dick allegedly stole a man’s necklace and stated that Dick met the man last week on Hollywood Boulevard.

According to TMZ, police in Hollywood made the arrest when they spotted Andy Dick riding his bike on Friday night. His arrest on Friday was not the first time that Dick has been in trouble with the law.

Prior to the Friday night arrest, Andy Dick’s most recent arrest was in 2011. That arrest took place in 2011, at a Southern California Marie Callendar’s restaurant, on charges of being drunk and disorderly.

Andy Dick has also been arrested in the past several times on charges of groping people and exposing himself in public. For example, in 2010, Dick was arrested in West Virginia at a club for allegedly groping a man and also for allegedly grabbing the crotch of a bouncer.

Dick was arrested in 2008, in Murrieta, Califronia, outside a Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar. Those charges were on drug possession and suspicion of sexual battery after he allegedly fondled the breast of a 17-year-old girl and pulled down her shirt.

The comedian was also physically dragged off the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live, for feeling up the legs of another one of Kimmel’s guests, Ivanka Trump. This was mentioned at Just Jared’s web site, among others.

Comedian Andy Dick has acted in the TV series Newsradio and has had roles in many movies, like Old School and Dude, Where’s My Car? In 2013, he appeared in the TV series 2 Broke Girls as J.Petto in two episodes. He has also had his own show on MTV and, from 2010-2012, Dick did the voice of Jesus Christ on the animated Adult Swim series, Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole. On the 2014 SyFy Channel’s TV movie, Sharknado 2: The Second One, Andy Dick played Officer Doyle.

Andy Dick has admitted to having had ongoing problems dealing with both intoxicating beverages and illegal drugs. He has even been on the TV series, Sober House, in 2009, talking about his problems with Doctor Drew Pinsky.

Dick has become known for his quirky behavior and many other comedians and talk show hosts have made jokes about his alcohol and drug-fueled misadventures that have often led to run-ins with the law. Though these activities have frequently been of questionable taste and have sometimes been illegal, they are also what has helped keep Andy Dick in the public spotlight and have made him a popular comedian with his fans.

The most recent arrest of Andy Dick on Friday night has shown that the comedian has not completely overcome his problems with handling drugs and alcohol. This time, Dick might not be able to get out of his current legal issues without having to spend some time in jail.
