On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host of the show, Fallon, once again had some terrific guests on. His first guest of the evening was actress Drew Barrymore. Jimmy Fallon was with her a bit later on, in a skit called Wanna Spratz. The Farrelly brothers, Bobby and Peter, were also on with Drew. The Tonight Show‘s musical guest was Johnny Marr.
Jimmy Fallon welcomed his audience, and they gave him a standing ovation. Then, he joked about celebs, politicians, and other newsworthy topics in his monologue. Some of the jokes from it, somewhat paraphrased, follow.
“You’re here, you made it! Thank you! President Obama is in China right now. He wore the traditional purple shirt,” Fallon said. He compared the photo of them, side-by-side, to people on Star Trek.
Jimmy Fallon joked about how Obama wanted to call the Internet a “utility.” He showed a Monopoly card made up that said “Utility” on it. Then, he showed a clip of a Fox newscaster talking with Mike Huckabee, dropping the “F” bomb accidentally.
“This week, The Simpsons had a crossover episode with Futurama,” Fallon said, talking about the idea that shows would cross over and have an entire season, and he made up new names of these shows.
“It’s time for Tonight Show Joke Book,” Jimmy Fallon said. He showed kids telling jokes. Then, the house band, The Roots, played while Fallon got to his desk. He mentioned everyone who would be on tonight’s show, the Farrelly brothers (Dumb and Dumber To) and Drew Barrymore and his musical guest, Johnny Marr. He said that Channing Tatum would be on tomorrow night, and U2 would be on the show all week next week.
“It’s time for Pros & Cons. We’ll be looking at the Pros & Cons for the Return of the Polar Vortex. Pro: It’s a phenomenon that signals the return of colder temperatures. Con: Or as it used to be called, the month of November. Pro: Staying warm in a wool coat, wool hat and wool sweater. Con: While the sheep freezes. Pro: Weathermen describes the roads as treacherous. Con: Matthew McConaughey say there are ‘alright, alright, alright.'” Then, the Tonight Show went to a commercial break.
When the Tonight Show returned, Jimmy Fallon introduced his first guest of the evening, actress Drew Barrymore. She talked about a line of perfume she has out, called her “Flower Beauty Line,” and other topics.
Jimmy Fallon asked her about having been in London, and she said she had been, acting in an upcoming movie. She said she saw Jimmy the “day before they left.” She was referring to her two kids, a daughter and a son. Jimmy showed photos of them.
“You produced the show Knife Fight for the Esquire Network,” Fallon said.
She then talked with him about being the producer of that, a series that has its third season set in New York, in Brooklyn. “I can’t lose this weight because of my husband,” she told Fallon “I have no interest in dieting. If my husband wants to pig out, then so do I.”
Fallon asked her about her husband going all over London researching which restaurant had the best sticky toffee pudding. “I just had to try them all out alongside him,” she said, saying that they were “delicious.”
Then, she discussed about “having a fragrance for every emotion,” and that her line of perfume ought to reflect that. “Sultry” is the name of one, as is “Cherish.” They are sold at Walmart stores everywhere.
Fallon talked about a time when they both worked selling perfume at Macy’s one summer, and he said he had a clip of it. Of course, he was setting up their skit, Wanna Spratz. They performed the skit after another commercial break.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon came back from the break and Drew and Fallon were LOL funny in the Wanna Spratz skit. Jimmy’s hair was all poofed up and he was wearing glasses. They asked everyone passing by if they wanted “a spritz,” or “a spratz.”They danced and Barrymore and Fallon did a Taylor Swift Shake It Off take-off. The manager of the store said “I have one thing to say: You don’t work here. Please leave.” They took their perfume, and more, and ran off. Then, the Tonight Show went to more commercials.
Back from the break, Drew Barrymore stayed, and Jimmy Fallon introduced his next guests, the Farrelly brothers. They have directed many hilarious movies, including the original Dumb and Dumber and Something About Mary. Fallon talked to them about Dumb and Dumber To and other movies.
They talked about having a celebrity scent, named after Ron Jeremy, that “was a little musky.” They talked with Fallon about being at a tribute together to John Belushi, and using actual World Series cameras to shoot a film. Drew was also in the film.
“Guys, Dumb and Dumber To, thank goodness it’s arrived,” Fallon said. He talked about “so many Easter eggs in the movie.” Kathleen Turner and Bill Murray are also in the movie, though Bill only makes a very brief appearance.
After the credits, Fallon said “Sea Bass has returned.” Cam Neely is also in it. In the first movie, Jeff Daniels only asked for $50,000. “He pushes Jim in ways no one can push Jim,” one of the brothers said about Daniels.
Back from a commercial break, from the album Easy Money, Johnny Marr sang the song Playland. He played the electric guitar as he sang. He ROCKED OUT! He gave a terrific, memorable performance. The album can be pre-ordered at the second link, below.
