A man in Glen Burnie, Maryland, fleeing from police, lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a tree, injuring his 12-year-old passenger. The boy was the son of his girlfriend, and was taken to Johns Hopkins hospital for injuries which were not life-threatening. According to police, pursuit began when an officer tried to pull over a car traveling over 100 miles-per-hour on Interstate 97. The driver took an exit and ran a red light to avoid the police, but lost control and crashed. The man has been identified as Gary Eldridge, Jr. from Severn. He was driving with a suspended license in a vehicle which belonged to a friend.
