The former Santa Barbara County, California District Attorney who twice attempted to nab Michael Jackson on child molestation charges has died of cancer. Tom Sneddon accused the singer-dancer in a 2005 case of saturating his alleged victim with alcohol, sexually assaulting him at the singer/dancer’s Neverland estate in California, and also restraining his family members as hostages.
It was more than a decade before that Sneddon pursued Jackson for allegedly molesting a boy at Neverland. The child and his family did not cooperate and the case was settled for $20 million. A father to nine children, Sneddon held a deep conviction that the entertainer was a child molester. The musician apparently felt persecuted by Sneddon, singing in the song D.S., that “They wanna get my ass dead or alive” and that “Dom Sheldon is a cold man.”
