Nik Wallenda, the 35-year-old heir to the Flying Wallendas’ family business, completed another daredevil walk and conquered the Chicago Skyline in the process. The performer wowed Chicago and the global community with dual skyscraper crossings via a high-wire on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, without the benefit of a harness or safety net.
An audience of nearly 50,000 onlookers filled the streets of “ChiTown” to watch the daredevil complete back-to-back walks across the Chicago Skyline, including one in which the performer wore a blindfold.
According to reports, the walk is the highest and steepest high-wire walk completed in the history of the family business, and the feat has now garnered Wallenda two world records.
The feat was broadcast on the Discovery Channel with a brief delay, so producers could cut away if something went awry with the performance.
