Philadelphia Police have reported that one man is dead and another man was left injured in a shooting that occurred in South Philadelphia. According to police, the shooting that killed one individual occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. The police report indicates that near the 600 block of Winton Street, a 35-year-old man received a gunshot wound to the head and was taken by police to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. The injuries were too severe and the individual was pronounced dead.
The police also reported that a 56-year-old man was also shot. This individual was shot in the stomach and also taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital to receive care. At this time, this gunshot victim’s condition is unknown.
Police are currently investigating the two shootings. There is no word if the shootings are connected or committed by separate individuals. Currently, no arrests have been made and the names of the two shooting victims have not been released at this time.
