AirAsia Missing Flight Search Resumes Tomorrow Morning

Earlier today a AirAsia flight disappeared. Flight number QZ8501 departed from Indonesia and was headed for Singapore. The flight had more than 150 passengers on board and lost contact with Indonesian air traffic control just after 6:15 am. The plane is suspected to have vanished over the Java Sea. Between Sumatra and Singapore heavy storms have been raging, they have been filled with rain and lightning.

Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia has tweeted his support, asking all employees to stay strong during this tragic event as it has been difficult on many. Concerned family and friends of passengers have the option of calling the emergency phone line, +622129850801.

Tony Abbot, the Australian Prime Minister offered a P3 Orion Aircraft in order to help search for the missing plane. Rescue and search operations have been transpiring for most of the night. For now, the search has been paused, it will resume in the morning hours.
