Kick off the year with fourty-eight straight hours of video game speedruns. It may be the beginning of 2015, but it is the end of the world, and as such the event will end with none other than The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. The event is a kickoff celebration for the new bugmaniacmarc stream and will prepare viewers for another week straight of games as Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) begins on January 4, when this stream ends.
Taking a hint from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Dawn of the Second Day: 48 Hours Remain will run for 48 straight hours until it is finished. It was also be the game played to finish the event. Journey will be the first game to kick off the stream, 1:00 pm Friday January 2. After that, the stream will be running straight until it ends, showing of a number of speedruns as well as multiplayer games to mix it up.
The schedule includes old school games, more recent ones, and the random forgotten games in between. Aside from speedruns, the stream will also be running multiplayer games as well as the random mystery game. After Journey, the stream will have Way of the Samurai, Shadow of the Colossus, Super Mario World (Co-op), Starcraft 2, Mario Kart 8 and then finish the night with Guitar Hero 3.
Once it becomes Saturday the stream will feature Condemned: Criminal Origins, before transforming into the graveyard shift, which should be full of surprises. The morning will feature an array of Mario sports game before Wolt demonstrates the strategy of Fire Emblem (Game Boy Advance). Once that is finished, Master Koga will run Shovel Knight before changing to the Super Nintendo classic Megaman X. The stream will change to a bugmanicmarc event, Once a Bug Catcher… before the final mystery game of the evening.
Late night Saturday, early Sunday will feature Super Amazing Wagon Adventure, 20 Games to Play With Your Mates and Horror Games with Holland. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will close out the event, but prior will be a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fishing contest.
Officially hosted by bugmaniacmarc on his new twitch channel, the event is being put on by members of the Spokane Pokemon Federation, but is open to anyone that would like be a part of the event.
With so many people being a part of the event, the commentators and runners will be switching often. This event is a communal one that is only able to happen due to the efforts of all the different contributors. Chat is encouraged. This is not an uptight stream with tons of rules and regulations, it is the gathering of friends to stream some great games and bring in the new year. With only one day separating the end of 2014 and the end of the world, Dawn of the Second Day kicks of January 2 and runs for 48 straight hours.
