As many fans suspected for Supernatural season 10, Dean Winchester now wants to get rid of the Mark of Cain. It seems he is ready to admit that it is making him do things that he does not want to do. After all, he did say in the season finale that it was turning him into something he did not want to become.
After saving him from being a demon, Sam Winchester has kept his eye on his brother. Everything seemed to be peachy until two weeks ago when Dean killed the maid in the Clue-inspired episode. Dean fired off way too many shots than necessary, claiming that it was due to being a little rusty after his time of being a demon. However, in his heart-felt speech to Cole last week, it is clear that there is something else playing on his mind.
During tonight’s episode of Supernatural, it looks like the brothers are finally trying to get to the root of the problem. They are looking for a way to get rid of the Mark of Cain. Dean is clearly frustrated in a teaser clip for the episode, as he realizes that the Men of Letters have absolutely nothing on the Mark, yet they have a 600+ paper on transgender issues for werewolves.
The episodes are clearly setting it up for the decision that Dean will have to make in the mid-season finale next week. It seems like Dean Winchester really wants to get rid of the Mark of Cain on Supernatural season 10 for now, but will something next week make him change his mind? Will he decide that he could be a better hunter if he gives into the lure of the Mark?
According to reports for Supernatural, the next half of season 10 will focus on Dean’s demonic side. Some fans wonder whether Dean was really cured of being a demon. Considering he is a Knight of Hell thanks to the Mark of Cain, there is the chance that his demonic side is just currently dormant. It could be why Crowley gave Dean up so easily at the start of the season, and just pretended that it was due to Dean’s unwillingness to follow orders.
The mid-season finale is expected to be explosive, and end with a shocking twist. Could it be that Dean does decide that he does not want to get rid of the Mark of Cain after all? Could it be that his demonic side comes out, leading to a second half of the season of the brothers having to deal with this supernatural entity that they do not know how to contain?
The writers disappointed many fans with ending Deanmon so early in the season. Even the actors said that they were disappointed at first. However, it seems that there is something else up their sleeves, and they have not forgotten all about the Mark of Cain. For now, Dean Winchester wants to get rid of the Mark of Cain, but will that play out for the rest of Supernatural season 10?
