Bruce Jenner and his sons getting their own reality show? What a concept! Yet, it just might happen, as Jenner and his sons are currently in talks with several production companies who are apparently eager to have them star in a TV series similar in style and format to Keeping Up With the Kardashians, except a more testosterone-fueled version.
If the deal gets inked, Bruce Jenner, 65, and his two sons, Brody, 31, and Brandon, 33, would be the stars of the new reality series, according to TMZ and other sources, like Contactmusic.com. A potential fly in the ointment is that Bruce is still under contract with E!, though he is divorced from Kris Jenner, the executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. For his plans to star in a new reality series of his own, with his sons, Bruce will need to find a way to get out of his contract with E!.
Reportedly, Bruce Jenner pitched the plan of starring in his own reality show to execs at E!, but they were not interested in the idea. According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, “They don’t think Bruce can carry his own show.”
According to TMZ, the proposed show would focus on the daily lives of Bruce Jenner and his sons, but would depict them doing manly sorts of activities, such as racing cars. Maybe a few episodes of Bruce throwing the pig skin around or shooting hoops will get the minds of many people off of the idea that he might be interested in having a sex change operation.
On their own, Bruce’s sons starred in the short-lived Fox reality TV series, The Princes of Malibu, in 2005. That show bombed, however, and lasted for just two episodes. Brody has appeared in a few episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and also in the series, The Hills.
It would be interesting to have the two shows, Keeping Up With the Kardashians and whatever Bruce Jenner’s reality series might be called, in the same time slot competing against each other for ratings. Such a show might not be very far off, as there are reports that Jenner has hired a film crew already, to film the daily lives of himself and his sons.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians helped keep the Kardashians in the headlines for years and increased the family’s fame and immense wealth. Now, the former Olympian is hoping that lightning will strike twice, and his own reality TV series will be as popular with TV viewers. Not having Kim Kardashian and her sisters on it, though, might not make such a TV series one that would last very long, unless enough famous celebs would agree to guest star on it.
A deal for a reality TV series featuring Bruce Jenner and his two sons, Brandon and Brody, has not yet been inked, though it might be that all that is necessary is to iron out the details. Bruce Jenner remains a very wealthy man, even after his divorce from his ex-wife, Kris. He can afford to wait until the best offer comes along. One day in the near future, he will likely be back in the limelight, in a reality television series of his own.
