Actress Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte singer and guitarist, Benji Madden, are getting married tonight, according to TMZ and other sources, after just having met each other seven months ago. They will be reportedly getting married in Los Angeles, at their home in Beverly Hills.
The happy couple was set up by Madden’s sister-in-law, Nicole Richie. The famous matchmaker, Richie, is married to Benji’s brother, Joel. Benji and Joel are twins. Nicole arranged for Cameron Diaz, 42, and Benji Madden, 35, to meet each other in May, and they have been dating ever since then. Benji popped the question just last month, in December, just before Christmas, and they set the date for…today, January 5.
Last night, in Beverly Hills, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden held their rehearsal dinner, according to Us Weekly. They invited family and friends to the rehearsal dinner, like Joel Madden, Joel’s wife, Nicole Richie and Drew Barrymore, a source who spoke to People said, adding “Cameron has found true happiness.”
The night before that, on Saturday, January 3, Cameron and Benji ate at Il Cielo. An onlooker said that the couple were eating with a small group and that there were candles and rose petals on the table, as if “they were celebrating.”
Sunday night, Cameron Diaz reportedly spent the night with some of her girlfriends at a Los Angeles hotel and had a bachelorette party. While details have not been leaked about what went on at the party, there is little doubt that Diaz enjoyed her last night as a single woman.
On Monday morning, final arrangements were put into place, as Classic Party rental trucks and trucks from The Velvet Garden florists and Beverage Warehouse, along with others, were seen headed to Diaz and Madden’s house. Also, Yifat Oren, a famous celebrity wedding planner who planned the rehearsal dinner, arrived to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Oren has planned weddings for stars such as Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon, and Drew Barrymore.
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden reportedly did not tell their neighbors that they were having their wedding tonight, but instead said that Diaz was “having a a pre-Golden Globes party,” according to another source who spoke to a reporter from People.
Diaz has had a large tent put up on her property. The wedding festivities will start as it begins to get dark, and it will apparently be held in the couple’s large backyard. Nicole Richie, Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore and Joel Madden are expected to be some of the celebrity guests in attendance to witness Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden getting married.
Previously, Diaz had not seemed to be very interested in getting married, when she was asked about the subject. She stated that she was “not looking for a husband or marriage.” She even raised the question “if anyone is really naturally monogamous.”
Perhaps Cameron Diaz was just trying to throw the media off the idea that she and Benji Madden were planning to have a wedding soon. The huge, brilliantly sparkling engagement ring she began sporting towards the end of December, seen in photographs Us ran, though, was a dead giveaway that something was in the works.
Cameron Diaz has been romantically linked with the names of several actors and sports stars, like Jared Leto, Matt Dillon, Justin Timberlake and New York Yankees third baseman, Alex Rodriguez. With her wedding to Good Charlotte singer and guitarist, Benji Madden, on Monday night, January 5, Diaz is now off the market, and she has hopefully found Mr. Right.
