A couple from Gloversville, New York, were arrested early Saturday morning at approximately 2:20 a.m. by police, according to a report by NBC affiliate, WNYT 13. They were arrested by the Guiderland police, who saw that their car had been parked in the middle of State Route 155. When the police searched the car, they found 99 packets of heroin in it.
A passenger in the car, Jermaine Staley, 31, of Gloversville, had an active bench warrant out against him that had been issued by the Schenectady Police Department. Gloversville resident, Ashleigh Foster-Morrison, 28, was the driver of the vehicle. She had been driving under the influence of drugs, according to the arresting police officers.
Staley and Ashleigh Foster-Morrison were arrested on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Other violations Foster-Morrison was charged with were possessing marijuana unlawfully, and DWAI of drugs. Besides being arrested for possessing drugs and DWAI, she was issued traffic and vehicle tickets.
Both Foster-Morrison and Staley were arraigned at the Town of Guilderland court. They are currently in the Albany County Jail. The court date for the pair has been set for January 15, at the Guilderland Town Court.
