Lincoln, Nebraska police are reporting an accident on Cornhusker Highway that has killed one person and left four others injured. The accident took place at the intersection of 70th Street and Cornhusker Highway, and three vehicles were involved. One person, who has not been identified, was killed in the crash. Four others were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries, none of which were reported as life-threatening. No update on the condition of those four or whether they will be released has been given.
Lincoln police have not yet released many details of the crash, so it is unknown what the circumstances were surrounding the accident. An investigation of the scene is ongoing to determine what factors led to the deadly pileup. Interviews of the witnesses will help determine if road conditions, speed, or alcohol might have played a role. More details are expected to be released as that investigation proceeds.
