Netflix is decking the halls and ringing in the new year by continuing to add new movie and TV streaming options available for viewing in January 2015. In the new year, the streaming service will continue to expand its extensive library and offer subscribers a vast variety of entertainment options that include new TV show and movie releases, Netflix original content, as well as classic programming just made available via streaming media. Here are some of the new streaming options available for viewing on Netflix in January 2015.

Some of the titles that will be added to the streaming service on January 1 include the holiday classic The Quiet Man (1952), starring Hollywood icons John Wayne (True Grit) and Maureen O’Hara (Only the Lonely). The family friendly classic has long been played on St. Patrick’s Day, as well as during the Christmas holiday. The story follows an American boxer who retires to the Emerald Isle after a devastating event and falls madly in love with a local lass, which garners the furor of her older brother and town ruffian. The movie offers viewers many cinematic delights, as it was filmed entirely in Ireland. Another film classic that will be available for streaming on Netflix starting January 1 is the 1971 cop caper The French Connection. The movie starred Gene Hackman (The Firm) and made him an international name. The extended car chase scene still remains legendary and is considered one of the best in Hollywood film history.

Netflix subscribers will certainly rejoice as all 10 seasons of Friends finally becomes available for streaming on January 1. The New York City-based mega hit comedy was a juggernaut series for NBC and garnered over 50 million viewers for its series finale in 2004. It also made household names out of its cast, which included Courtney Cox (Cougar Town), Jennifer Aniston (Horrible Bosses), and Matthew Perry (Three to Tango). Some of the other new streaming options available for viewing on Netflix in January 2015 include the third season of the revamped TNT series Dallas, which was recently cancelled and a continuation of the CBS juggernaut series that ruled the airwaves for 14 seasons (1978-91).

On January 3, another new title that will be added to the streaming media giant’s extensive library includes the fifth season of USA hit series White Collar, which stars Matt Bomer (Magic Mike) and Tiffani Thiessen (Saved by the Bell). The series just completed its six-year run in late 2014 and centered on a white-collar thief who assists the FBI in solving crimes. Netflix will also add the latest Jack Ryan film, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014), to its library on that date as well.

On January 8, the final season of the USA hit series Psych will join the other 7 seasons and enable Netflix subscribers to view the entire TV series beginning to wacky end. The madcap, pseudo psychic detective series completed its 8 season run in 2014 and starred James Roday (Miss Match), Dule Hill (The West Wing), and Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law). Meanwhile, other new streaming options available for viewing on Netflix in January 2015 include the second season of its own original series, The Fall, which stars Gillian Anderson (X-Files) and Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey). Season 2 will become available for streaming on January 16. Also available for viewing on January 16, the 2011 film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which starred Gary Oldman (Dracula) and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), centered on Cold War-era espionage and the costs associated with the profession.

As a new year begins, Netflix has many new streaming options available for viewing in January 2015. Additional new titles that will help round out the streaming media giant’s offerings for viewing in the new year include the second season of the CW TV series Beauty and the Beast, which was revamped from the CBS hit 80’s series that starred Linda Hamilton (Terminator) and Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy). Season 2 of the updated TV version will become available for streaming on January 28. Also available for viewing on January 28, the 2014 hit movie Chef will make its way to Netflix. The film starred Jon Favreau (Iron Man) and Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) and centered on a fired restaurant chef who starts a food truck business while working to repair his fractured family. In the new year, Netflix is decking the halls and ringing in 2015 by continuing to add new movie and TV streaming options available for viewing in January and throughout the new year.
