With the end of 2014 it becomes time to give out the awards for the People’s Choice Awards of 2015. January 7 marks the starting point for the annual event, which begins at 9:00 pm Eastern Standard Time via CBS. The award ceremony features awards for music, television and movies. A couple of categories are still open although most have already closed. With so many categories to choose from, here are some predicted winners for the People’s Choice Awards of 2015.
The 41st People’s Choice Awards begins January 7, 9:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on CBS. The three-hour event will be hosted by both Allison Janney and Anna Faris. The evening will features musical performances by Iggy Azalea, Lady Antebellum, and Fall Out Boy. The three categories being voted upon include music, television and movies, although the majority of awards will be going to television. Even though the event is tomorrow, some categories have yet to be decided. Fan votes are still being accepted, link located below.
2014 saw some rather huge controversy regarding the new Seth Rogen film, The Interview, yet still Rogen is our pick for the winner of Favorite Comedic Actor. Favorite Movie Actor goes to Mark Wahlberg for his recent performance in The Gambler. Although many talented ladies were nominated, the Favorite Movie Actress prediction goes to Emma Stone for her role in Birdman.
Two family movies really stood out this year, but The Lego Movie has proven to be a bridge big enough to cover any age gap as it offers unexpectedly well fleshed out hilarity and story. Marvel had a lot of solid movies come out, yet it looks like Favorite Movie will go to Guardians of the Galaxy.
The music portion of the People’s Choice Awards ballot was substantially smaller than both other sections. Many music genres such as electronic, alternative and even rock are not represented although country has three different awards. Out prediction is that Favorite Group will be awarded to One Direction while the Favorite R & B Artist goes to Pharrell Williams, who had an exceptional year. Favorite Country Group has a number of potential nominees, but is likely to go to the Zac Brown Band.
The section with the most awards is television. A powerful female lead, Amy Poehler is our choice for Favorite Comedic TV Actress. Favorite Dramedy is the Netflix Original with as much charm as fight, Orange is the New Black. Favorite TV Show had a lot of contenders, but The Walking Dead is still going strong. Favorite Sketch Comedy TV Show still has the consistently funny Saturday Night Live, but Key & Peele could take the award this year. Favorite Animated TV Show has such classics as The Simpsons and Family Guy, but more likely is the more recent Bob’s Burgers.
The annual event begins tomorrow evening, January 7 and will run for a total of three-hours. With awards to give out in television, music and movies, viewers will get to see if their votes brought awards to their favorite nominees.
