The good news for Rihanna fans is that she is releasing new music, with her song titled FourFiveSeconds, featuring both Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney. McCartney plays the guitar and West lends his melodic singing skills to Rihanna’s latest song. Check out the audio version of this cool though mellow new song, below!
This collaboration that Barbados native, Rihanna, 26, did with the two musical super stars, Kanye West and Paul McCartney, closely follows McCartney’s collaboration with West, Only One, that was released on New Year’s Eve. Reportedly, these two songs mark the first of others that will be released in the coming days that Paul McCartney did with both Rihanna and Kanye West.
FourFiveSeconds is an amazing song, in a more pop or folk-sounding vein than much of Rihanna’s music. One of the lines is “Now I’m four, five seconds from wildin’/And we got three more days ’til Friday.”
Music industry people who attended the iHeartRadio Summit on January 21, 2015, got to listen to FourFiveSeconds before the general public. Kanye West reportedly gave a long, rambling 45-minute speech to his audience, declaring that it was his “responsibility to innovate.” He then played the song right off of his computer, before closing it and walking off the stage. West did not, at the time, reveal when the song would be released.
Now, everyone can hear FourFiveSeconds, not just radio programmers. The catchy song sounds like it is destined to become a big hit for Rihanna, West, and McCartney.
During a recent interview with a reporter from E! News, the Diamonds singer stated that she was in the process of working on a new album in the studio “with a killer team.” She added that she was “excited about what we’re doing.”
The song FourFiveSeconds, much like Only One, is a throwback song, with both sounding as if they would have been just as at home if they had been released in the 1960s or 1970s as they are today, in 2015. The Umbrella singer’s voice harmonizes extremely well with West’s, and this song just might help her knock Taylor Swift from the number one spot on the charts.
In an interview with Billboard, musical artist Ty Dolla $ign said that he had also assisted on the duet, and he mentioned that a video will soon follow. He said that Kanye West had planned for the song to be included on his upcoming album, but the We Found Love singer is calling FourFiveSeconds a “first glimpse” at the music which will be on her own upcoming album.
Rihanna and Kanye West sing all of the lyrics on FourFiveSeconds, with Sir Paul McCartney contributing his stellar guitar playing to the upbeat tune. With both Rihanna and Kanye West claiming the song as his or her own, it could be possible it will be on both of their new albums when they are released.
When Rihanna announced that she would be releasing new music, her fans hoped that it would be sooner, rather than later, that they would be able to hear it. Probably, very few people, other than musical insiders like those at the iHeartRadio Summit, expected that she would be releasing a collaboration featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney. With FourFiveSeconds now available at iTunes, and below, her fans will be able to listen to this cool new song in advance of when the video of it will be released.
