The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE is the top-of-the-line model in the midsize sedan bracket for Toyota. While previous Camrys have not been anything to boast about, since their new body style has come out, they have been seen as very desirable.
This car is not the minimalist Camry one would have driven in the 1990s or the early 2000s, according to test drivers. For the Camry, the new body style and the performance package is very bold. The sharper handling 2015 Toyota Camry XSE features 18-inch alloy wheels, high performance front and rear independent suspension tuning, and added interior luxuries.
For the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE, the higher end of the options list includes a V6 engine, standard LED headlights, the Entune premium audio and navigation console with an IPhone-like app suite, with a 7-inch, high-resolution, touch screen display, power sunroof, and Qi Bluetooth charging capability, able to charge your phone without actually plugging it in. The options list goes even further with engine selections.
The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE has two engine choices, which include all the bells and whistles regarding trim packages: a 178 horsepower 2.5 liter inline four-cylinder, or the much more powerful, 268 horsepower 3.5 liter V6. For the performance-minded gearhead, the V6 would be the better decision. According to test drivers, such a crisp suspension, with unbelievable handling, should not be wasted on an underpowered, sluggish engine.
The four-cylinder 2015 Toyota Camry XSE is fine for sedated commuting around town and doing weekly trips to the grocery store. In other words, it is lacking in the performance bracket. Although the V6 will pack a more powerful punch, it will feel a tad lethargic with a full load of passengers and cargo. Though, if you want hybrid fuel economy and top-of-the-line performance standards, the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE will not be able to satiate your desire. The XSE is the only package on which hybrid technology is not available.
For the person who wants a sporty feel without a sports car price, the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE features a multi-mode console gear shifter and paddle shifter mounted on the steering wheel linked to a six-speed automatic transmission. While in “S” mode, the transmission allows the driver to control the heightened performance driving feel. Though test drivers say the “S” mode performance should be available in normal driving mode for the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE, they believe the fuel economy would be dropped by a bolder ride under normal circumstances.
Regarding fuel economy, the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE, with the 2.5 liter I4 engine is rated at 25 mpg in the city and 35mpg on the highway. The V6 has relatively good fuel mileage, as well, with 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
All Toyotas, including the performance-enhanced 2015 Toyota Camry XSE, are known for their great safety features. All trim packages feature: adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system, blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure alert with automatic high beam alert. The rear cross traffic alert will be great for those who park between two SUVs. Moreover, the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE has 10 standard airbags that include front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, drivers and front passenger’s knee airbags, dual-stage advanced front airbags, and side curtain airbags.
The price for the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE has a base price of $32,195 for the V6 drivetrain. The options list will allow the potential buyer to add much needed performance and handling for the midsize sedan. As Toyota’s perennial top seller, the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE will carry on Toyota’s advancement of their midsize family cars and mate high performance with their always-reliable transportation.
