Former Texas Governor Rick Perry came to Virginia to boast his policies to lawmakers as a politician who favors a low-tax, conservative approach to fiscal policy and a more aggressive attitude to international relations. On Tuesday, Perry came to Richmond, Virginia to speak to the Republican Party of Virginia, lecturing the attendees on his aforementioned views on legislation that helped shape Texas into the new economic powerhouse, while tightening the security along its border with Mexico.
The potential 2016 presidential candidate was the feature speaker at the fundraiser in Virginia’s capital city. Perry is one of several hopeful Republican candidates who are making the rounds through Virginia, considering it is now an influential swing state.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush presented a Richmond fundraiser party last week, showing his interest in the 2016 presidential race. On Thursday, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is scheduled to attend a meet-and-greet with Republican donors in Richmond, hosted by former U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
