Harris Wittels, executive producer of “Parks and Recreation” has been found dead, the cause is being called a possible drug overdose. He was 30.
Los Angeles police officer Rosario Herrera stated Wittels’s assistant found him in his Los Feliz home at noon on Thursday, he was pronounced dead upon the ambulance’s arrival. Herrera told reporters his death is currently under investigation as a likely drug overdose. Los Angeles County coroners will determine the precise cause of death, following an autopsy this week. Wittels had been to rehab twice, recently, according to reporters.
Wittels was a writer and executive producer for the hit NBC comedy, “Parks and Recreation”, also having a few cameo acting scenes on the show. The show, which began airing on TV in 2009, is set to air its final episode in the series next week. As well, he was a stand-up comedy performer and a TV writer for shows that included “Eastbound & Down” and “The Sarah Silverman Program”.
