Rascal Flatts kicked off their residency at the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino on Wednesday. The show titled Rascal Flatts Vegas Riot! will have the group performing nine shows at the Joint inside the Hard Rock from February 25 to March 14. Craig Wayne Boyd will be Rascal Flatt’s special guest. The group rode in with a memorable entrance on Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m., featuring the Richard Petty Driving Experience and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the Foothill High School’s Marching Band.
Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney, and Jay DeMarcus, Rascal Flatt’s band members, arrived at the property Las Vegas style, in Richard Petty NASCAR race cars, and each one spoke a few words on stage. In keeping with the theme, the trio will sing the national anthem at this year’s Kobalt 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, March 8 and Boyd will play at the pre-festivities.
The Hard Rock Hotel-Casino is changing the menus at the restaurants and bars with Rascal Flatts-themed specials, which will be available throughout Rascal Flatt’s residency. The Hard Rock reached out to Rascal Flatts’ management last year with the idea of bringing in a country act to play at The Joint and the group agreed.
Fifteen years of touring, 33 singles, and nine albums later, Rascal Flatts is toning things down a bit with a more intimate theater setting at The Joint, which seats about 4,000. Rooney stated that it is nostalgic, bringing back all the memories over the years.
Rascal Flatts plays three nights a week and will keep everything set up on stage, something new for them. The group is getting back to the basics, the music, and there will be less going on in the production and the performance. This time around the group is focusing on the music and what better way than an intimate setting where eye contact can be made to every fan in the room. This will be an experience different from all the others for both Rascal Flatts and the fans.
Rascal Flatts has just had the longest time off of their careers, four months, and ready to bring the music to their residency at the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas. The group’s current single Riot off the album Rewind is behind the concept of their residency. The Hard Rock asked Rascal Flatts to stick with all their hits in the shows and that is what the group will do.
Rascal Flatts is currently writing new music and will start recording in summer with the end of this year slated for completion. The group will start back on tour after the shows are finished in Las Vegas. The 25 city tour includes mixing different venues, like festivals.
Rascal Flatts is busy and on February 18 , Rascal Flatts visited Miramonte Elementary School in Los Angeles. Rascal Flatts gave a grant from the CMA Foundation in the amount of $150,000 to Little Kids Rock, the national organization, which donates musical instruments, teacher training, and other resources for public schools cutting costs. Rascal Flatts brought a special delivery of instruments and spent time with the kids.
Getting back to the basics of music is Rascal Flatts theme going into Rascal Flatts Vegas Riot! residency at the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino. The shows run for three weeks ending March 14.
