Dr. Ben Carson has announced today that he is exploring a run for president in 2016. He is one of many conservatives joining the race to capture the Republican nomination as the beginning of the primary season draws closer. Terry Giles, Carson’s most probable head campaign adviser, stated the formation of his exploratory committee is starting, allowing the conservative presidential hopeful to collect capital for 2016.
Giles said Carson’s life has been noted by exemplary leadership. Carson overcame dreaded poverty in his younger years to become head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. Giles explained Carson has unbelievable abilities and extraordinary life experiences that have shown great perseverance and hard work allows the American dream to be attainable for every citizen. “Dr. Carson looks forward to listening to the American people to gauge support for a president candidacy,” he said.
Carson is better-known for making critical, controversial statements about the Obama Administration. Last week, he finished fourth in the straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Moreover, he received a great reception from the audience at the Iowa Freedom Summit in January. Some political experts believe Carson may have what it takes to be one of the front runners in the Republican party as the 2016 primary is only months away.
