‘Dancing With the Stars’: Rumor Willis and Val Lead the Pack

Dancing With the Stars

The 20th season of Dancing With the Stars premiered this Monday night, March 16, 2015, with some of the best celeb competitors yet. As Rumor Willis danced the Foxtrot with her dance partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, her parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, sat in the front row and cheered her on. By the end of the episode of Dancing With the Stars, Rumor and Val led the pack. Bruce also brought Emma Hemming, his current wife, with him to catch the performance.

Though Rumor and Val nailed the Foxtrot, they have some serious competition this season on Dancing With the Stars. Though they earned the highest scores from the judges tonight, 32 out of 40 possible points, R5 singer and actor Riker Lynch and his dance partner, Allison Holker, were only one point behind, with 31 out of 40 points in all from the judges. In third place for the night was Olympic artistic gymnast, Nastia Liukin, and her partner, five-time Mirror Ball champ pro dancer, Derek Hough. They danced the Foxtrot. Not very far behind on Dancing With the Stars, with an overall score of 28 out of 40 points, was Shark Tank panelist & businessman, Robert Herjavec, and his pro dance partner, Kym Johnson.

The first couple to perform on Dancing With the Stars this Monday, performing the Cha-cha-cha, was actress Willow Shields and Mark Ballas. They danced it to one of the most popular songs around today, Lips Are Movin. They received scores of three 6’s and one 7 from the judges, for a total of 25 points. They did a pretty good job, but the judges were likely waiting to see how well some of the other dancers did, before getting a bit freer with their judging standards.

The second couple of the night on Dancing With the Stars was Robert Herjavec and Kym. They danced the same dance, the Cha-cha-cha, to the song Bills, by LunchMoney Lewis. They stepped up the competition, and got scores of four 7s from the judges, for a total of 28/40 points.

Then, the third couple of the evening to perform on Dancing With the Stars was Riker Lynch and Allison Holker. They danced the Jive to The Romantics’ hit, What I Like About You. They really impressed the judges, who gave them three 8s and one 7, making for a total of 31 out of 40 points and placing them in the lead, up until the final performers of Dancing With the Stars, Rumor Willis and Val.

After Riker and Allison, the fourth couple on Dancing With the Stars to hit the dance floor was model and actress, Charlotte McKinney, and her dance partner, Keo. They performed a Jive dance to the Blues Brother’s version of Shake a Tail Feather. The Dancing With the Stars judges were not impressed with their performance, just giving then scores of two 5s and two 6s, for a combined total of 22 out of 40 possible points.

The next couple up on the Dancing With the Stars dance floor was soul singer, Patti LaBelle, and her dance partner, Artem. They are already fan favorites. They danced the Foxtrot to Lady Marmalade by Labelle. The judges awarded them three 6s and one 7 for their efforts, which equaled 25 out of 40 possible overall points.

Then, the sixth couple on Dancing With the Stars was The Bachelor star, Chris Soules, and his dance partner, Witney Carson. They performed a Jive dance to the Kenny Loggins hit, Footloose. They earned two 6s and two 7s from the Dancing With the Stars judges, for a combined total of 26 points out of 40.

Couple number seven on Dancing With the Stars was NFL football player, Michael Sam, and his dance partner, Peta Murgatroyd. They did an awesome job, dancing the Cha-cha-cha to the song Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and featuring Bruno Mars. They racked up the same scores, two 6s and two 7s, for 26 points out of 40.

Next on Dancing With the Stars, Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough danced and did an amazing job. They performed a Foxtrot to the song, New York, New York (FWB Remix) by Ray Quinn and featuring Ultra Love. They got scores of two 7s and two 8s from the judges, making for a total of 30 out of 40 points, placing them in second place so far.

The ninth couple of the night on Dancing With the Stars to perform was LMFAO singer, producer and rapper, Redfoo, and his dance partner, Emma Slater. They danced the Cha-cha-cha to one of Redfoo’s songs, Juicy Wiggle.

Combat soldier and personal trainer Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess were next on Dancing With the Stars. They danced the Cha-cha-cha to OneRepublic’s hit, I Lived. The judges awarded them scores of two 6s and two 7s, for a total of 26 out of 40 possible points.

There were just two more couples left to perform on Dancing With the Stars. The 11th couple to dance was another fan fave, television actress and author, Suzanne Somers, with her pro dance partner, Tony Dovolani. They did a great Cha-cha-cha to the song, Physical, by Olivia Newton-John. The judges just gave them scores of three 6s and one 7, for a total of 25 out of 40 points.

Finally, Rumor Willis and her dance partner, Val, performed on Dancing With the Stars. The best was saved for the last. They danced a spectacular Foxtrot to Hozier’s hit, Take Me to Church. The judges gave them scores of four 8s, for 32 out of 40 possible points, and they took the lead.

Dancing With the Stars kicked off the 2oth season of its existence right, with amazing performances by some of the best celebs yet to grace the show’s stage. Rumor Willis and Val led the pack by the end of the premiere episode, but they have a lot of dancing ahead of them if they want to go all the way and win the Mirror Ball Trophy at the end of the season. The couples with the lowest scores at the end of the episode were Charlotte McKinney and Keo and Redfoo and Emma Slater, both with scores from the judges of 22 out of 40 points. That puts both couples in danger of being eliminated the next episode of Dancing With the Stars.
