Loïc Nottet, who will be representing Belgium at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, had his song choice revealed earlier today via an announcement made by Sony Music Entertainment honcho Phillipe Coppens. A press conference discussing the matter was held in the country’s capital of Brussels.
The song is entitled Rhythm Inside, and a video clip containing the audio has already been uploaded onto the ESC’s main website in order for fans to have a preview of what the 18-year-old has in store for this year’s competition. Coppens has given the statement that the prime objective in terms of choosing a song choice for Nottet was to pick something that did not contain the typical essence of what a Eurovision song was. His reasoning for this lay with the fact that Nottet’s voice and musical style is quite different than the average participant, and therefore they wanted his song choice to reflect this rather than try and take the typical competitor approach to winner.
Nottet rose to fame after finishing second in the third season of The Voice Belgique, back in may of 2014. His Eurovision entry announcement was made by Radio Télévision Belge Francophone, Belgium’s French language state broadcaster, on November 3.
