On the Tonight Show this Wednesday, March 25, host Jimmy Fallon’s wonderful guests were former presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, and Grace Helbig, from The Grace Helbig Show. Mitt Romney had a conversation with his own reflection in a mirror; or, was that actually Mitt’s secret best friend, Jimmy Fallon? The musical guest was G-Unit. Announcer Steve Higgins was funny, as usual, and the house band, The Roots, jammed out, making for a great Hump Day episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Jimmy Fallon began the Tonight Show by doing his monologue, joking about Senator Cruz saying that he was now going to sign up for ObamaCare, despite having previously said he wanted to repeal every word of it. Then, Fallon mentioned a new poll that said many fictional TV presidents had a higher approval rating than President Obama. Fallon said instead of Rick Perry, people preferred any TV Soap Opera star over 50.
Kraft Foods said they were going to merge with Heinz. When asked why it took so long, a spokesman for Kraft Foods said “they had to turn it upside-down and wait.” Jimmy Fallon said some cheap brands of wine contain high levels of arsenic. Then, he mentioned that “Toys R Us might leave their location in Times Square. Why buy toys inside, when they can see Batman and Spider-Man outside?”
Then, Jimmy Fallon said that Facebook has a new feature called “On This Day” that showed people older photos of themselves. “It beats the original title, ‘You got Fat,'” he said. Jeremy Wade from River Monsters will be an upcoming guest, later this week, Fallon mentioned. Tonight, Fallon’s guests include Mitt Romney and Grace Helbig, who has a new talk show on E!, called The Grace Helbig Show. G-Unit, Fallon said, would be the musical guest.
Next, Jimmy Fallon did his “Screen Grabs” comedy bit. People sent in funny “Screen Grabs.” The “Screen Grabs” that Fallon showed were humorous, but they really have to be seen to get the joke, for the most part. One person sent in an ad for the Atlantis Resort, that said “Kids Eat Free & Free Dolphin.” Another was from a person who was shopping for car seats. The ad was for car seats for pets, and said “Great for Dogs & Bengal Tigers.”
Yet another “Screen Grab” was from someone who said a band member from Genesis looked a lot like Fallon. Jimmy Fallon then put on a wig with long hair and a fake mustache, and he did look somewhat similar to the band member. Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon, said that he would be back with the show’s first guest, Mitt Romney, after a commercial break.
When the Tonight Show came back on, Mitt Romney was sitting in front of a mirror in his dressing room, talking to himself. Mitt’s secret best friend, Jimmy Fallon, was dressed as Mitt, on the other side of the mirror, impersonating Romney. It was a pretty funny bit, and showed that Romney has a lighter side, and he does not mind laughing at himself.
Jimmy Fallon said that his first guest, Mitt Romney, will be fighting Evander Holyfield to raise money for a charity called Charity Vision. It was to help doctors operate on people around the world and cure them of blindness. Fallon asked “Do you do any impressions at all?”
Mitt Romney said “Not intentionally.” Fallon talked about having eaten at Romney’s house, and having hamburgers and hot dogs. Fallon said Mitt Romney took his daughter, Winnie, and walked with her down to the pond and dangled her little toes in the water.
Jimmy Fallon talked with Mitt about the documentary that was made when Romney ran in 2012. Fallon said he really enjoyed watching it. Mitt said “How many people would want to watch a one-and-a-half-hour ad?” However, the documentary turned out to be fairly interesting, and present a slice of life that many viewers enjoyed watching.
“Is it a shoe-in? Is it automatic? Will Hillary run?” Fallon asked.
Romney said “It looks like a shoe-in, but you never know.”
Then, Jimmy Fallon talked with Romney about the upcoming charity boxing match. It is all for a great cause. Hopefully, the fight will raise a lot of money for the charity.
When the Tonight Show returned from another commercial break, host Jimmy Fallon introduced his second guest, talk show host Grace Helbig, from The Grace Helbig Show. She currently has a show on YouTube called It’s Grace.
Grace talked about when she was a little girl, and threw a tantrum about not getting the cereal she wanted from a grocery store, She ripped hair from her mother’s head, and her mother took her and a sibling to the police station and said that was where bad girls and boys were taken. She said that she was “scared straight.”
Grace said that her new show, The Grace Helbig Show, will be interactive. People can write in suggestions that might get incorporated into the show on E!
Jimmy Fallon welcomed musical guests, hip-hop group G-Unit, performing I’m Grown from their album The Beast Is G-Unit. They put on a fantastic performance, and if the rest of the songs on their album are as good, it should be a big hit for them.
The Tonight Show‘s host, jimmy Fallon, had on the show former presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Mitt seemed much more personable on the Tonight Show than he seemed to be during the 2012 presidential campaign, which he lost to President Obama.
While Romney might not actually be the “secret best friend” of Jimmy Fallon, he has invited Fallon’s family over to his house before. Mitt will be boxing Evander Holyfield to raise money for Charity Vision. Grace Helbig talked with Fallon about her upcoming new talk show on E!, The Grace Helbig Show. Then, musical guests G-Unit took the stage and tore the place up performing their song, I’m Grown, rounding out another amazing episode of the Tonight Show.
