Beech-Nut Nutrition has just announced a recall of around 2,000 pounds of baby food after someone found a piece of glass in a jar of food. The recall was posted on the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) website. The recall involves four ounce jars with, “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSIC sweet potato & chicken,” all of which were manufactured on December 12, 2014.
The USDA stated the baby food products were sent to stores all over the country. Kristen Whipple, a spokeswoman for Beech-Nut Nutrition, said most of the jars have not been sold yet. Store employees have been working through the night to pull the products off of store shelves. Originally, the company received a call with a reported oral injury, according the to USDA.
The recalled baby food products have the number “P-68A” within the USDA inspection mark. It also recalled the product numbers of, “12395750815” through “12395750821.” Beech-Nut Nutrition has stated anyone with inquires in regards to the recall can contact the company’s hotline at (866)-671-4446.
