Netflix continues to add to its extensive library of new TV and movie viewing options available for streaming in April 2015. Now that spring has arrived, the streaming media giant continues to offer subscribers a wide array of entertainment options that include Netflix original content, classic movies and programming, as well as new TV show and movie releases. Here are some of the new viewing options available for streaming on Netflix in April 2015.
On April 1, the streaming service added new offerings including the 1997 romantic comedy flick The Beautician and the Beast, which starred Fran Drescher (The Nanny) and Timothy Dalton (Penny Dreadful). In the film, a New York cosmetologist (Drescher) is hired as a teacher to the children of an Eastern European dictator (Dalton). Additional titles for release on April 1 included three installments from the Leprechaun horror film series–Leprechaun 3 (1995), Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997), and Leprechaun 6: Back 2 tha Hood (2003). Other titles for release on April 1 included Buffalo Soldiers (2001), which starred Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the Line), Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind), and True Blood‘s Anna Paquin. The film focuses on a criminal underground of U.S. soldiers stationed in West Germany just before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
On April 2, the streaming media giant added the 2014 romantic comedy Life Partners, which starred Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl fame, Gillian Jacobs (Community), and Adam Brody (The O.C.). The film centers on two friends whose relationship is tested when a guy comes between them. On April 3, new titles added included The Quiet Ones (2014), which starred Mad Men‘s Jared Harris and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2). In the film, a university professor and team of students venture into medical experimentation as well as supernatural forces.
For TV lovers, the first season of AMC cult series Halt and Catch Fire (2014) was added to the streaming service offerings on April 8. Meanwhile, the first season of Marvel Comics’ Daredevil series debuted on April 10. Daredevil stars Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) and Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire). The series follows attorney Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy, as he fights injustice by day as a lawyer and becomes a vigilante by night as Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Netflix has already announced the Season 2 pick-up order for the show. However, the series will undergo creative and showrunner changes.
Some of the mid-month new viewing options available for streaming on Netflix in April 2015 include 2014’s The Identical, which starred Ashley Judd (Divergent) and Ray Liotta (Field of Dreams). The film focuses on twin brothers who are separated at birth and the divergent lives they led. The movie was added to the streaming service offerings on April 12. Other new mid-month title additions include They Came Together (2014), which starred Paul Rudd (This Is 40) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation). The film was added on April 17. Meanwhile, A Beautiful Mind co-stars Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly re-teamed for the 2014 film version of Noah, which joined the Netflix library on April 18.
Now that spring has officially sprung, the media giant has many new viewing options available for streaming in April 2015. Additional new titles that will help round out the streaming media giant’s offerings for the month that welcomes April showers include the final season of FX cult hit series Sons of Anarchy on April 25, which starred Katey Sagal (Married With Children) and Ron Perlman (CBS’ Beauty and the Beast). Other titles include the addition of National Treasure (2004), which starred Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas) and Diane Kruger (FX’s The Bridge). As April showers bring May flowers, Netflix will continue to expand its impressive library of new movie and TV viewing options available for streaming in April 2015 to keep subscribers entertained.
