On The Voice tonight, the Top 12 finalists were revealed, based on the votes of the viewers of America. The coaches had their teams cut to three competitors each by the end of the show. The remaining musical artists will have to try to prove that they deserved the votes by continuing on to the end of the season, to be the one person left who will then be given a recording contract and get the honor of being called “The Voice.”
The Voice host, Carson Daly, commenced the episode by saying that the top two vote-getters from each team would automatically get to move on. The judges would face the decision of which of the other team members to keep. Carson then introduced Wiz Khalifa and Chris Jamison, who sang a song from Furious 7, the big hit See You Again. Before Carson Daly read off the names of the competitors who got to move on, The Voice went to a commercial break.
When The Voice came back on, host Carson Daly introduced the members of Team Blake. They sang I’ll Take You There. It would be the last time that they all got the chance to sing together as a group. They ROCKED the song OUT with their performance. They all sounded so good together, it was sad to see two of them go later in the episode.
Before Carson revealed any of the names, he showed how Blake’s team had done against Team Pharrell last Monday night. Carson Daly read out “America saved — Corey Kent White! America also saved — Meghan Linsey!” Hannah, Brooke, and Sarah were left. Blake could only save one of the three.
Blake said “This is by far the toughest decision a coach has to face. I want to say to all three of you that you all deserve to be here. I thought about this scenario, and I’ll be moving forward with…Hannah.”
Many fans of The Voice thought for sure that Sarah Potenza would be one of the ones America saved, so it was kind of a surprise that she was not saved. Then, it was also kind of a surprise that Blake picked Hannah instead of Sarah, though Hannah is definitely an excellent musical artist and she deserves to move on.
After The Voice returned from another commercial break, host Carson Daly talked about an organization called Girls Inc. They help empower young girls across America. The girls got to meet Christina Aguilera and go backstage, getting the chance to have their makeup done and meet with the vocal advisers of The Voice.
Then, Carson Daly introduced the remaining members of Team Christina, who performed Like a Prayer on the stage of The Voice. They were impressive, like the members of Team Blake had been, with their musical performance. The audience clapped along as they all sang for the last time together. The Voice then went to another commercial break, but when the show returns, Carson Daly said Christina would have to make the difficult decision of who to keep and which two would be going home.
The Voice came back on, and Carson showed scenes of how the members of Team Christina did last night against Team Adam. She has a very strong team this season. Team Christina joined Carson on the stage, and he read the results: “America saved — Kimberly Nichole! America also saved — India Carney! Congratulations, you made it into the Top 12!”
That left Christina with a very difficult choice to make. “I was so proud of each and every one of you. I adore each and every one of you. You guys are all such gifts to music and the show. Moving forward, I pick Rob.” After she chose Rob, The Voice headed to more commercials.
When The Voice returned from the commercial break, host Carson Daly then introduced the members of Team Pharrell, who took the stage and sang Say Something. The song is so magical, and the remaining members of Team Pharrell definitely did it justice with their amazing performance of it. The audience screamed and cheered at various points as they all sang together.
Carson said “Let’s take another look at their performances from Monday night,” and a montage of their performances was shown. Carson read out “America saved — Sawyer Fredericks! Sawyer is in the Top 12!” America also saved — Mia Z!” Wow!
Now, Pharrell had to also make a difficult decision. First, he thanked all of his team members, and asked the audience to give them a hand. “I have to go with with my gut on this one. I love what you guys do, but I have to make a decision. My heart and soul is going with…Koryn.” Koryn Hawthorne will be moving on from Team Pharrell, along with Sawyer and Mia Z.
After yet more commercials, when The Voice came back on, it was time for the members of Team Adam to hit the stage and perform, before hearing who America had saved by their votes. They all sang You and I together. What an incredible performance! Adam has a lot of great singers on his team.
Carson Daly said “Let’s look quickly at the highlights of their performances on Tuesday!” Then, Carson read out the results of America’s votes. He said “America saved — Joshua Davis! You made it to the Final 12! America also saved — Deanna Johnson! You are moving on — congratulations!”
Adam said “This is not an easy decision. I hate it, I hate it — I love all of you guys, for completely different reasons. I have to go with my gut — I hate my gut — it’s a stupid idiot. I have to go with — Brian Johnson.”
That was the end of The Voice Results Show tonight. There were some amazing performances, as always, and the coaches each faced one of their most difficult decisions the entire season, about who to keep on their teams and which two would be eliminated. Be sure to tune in next week to The Voice, then come back here and read the recap and review of the episodes!
