An eyewitness has come forward to make comments regarding an incident that involved a Baltimore PD officer shooting an unarmed black man while he was fleeing the scene of a crime. According to the eyewitness, she stated that the claim in false.
After another media outlet reported the story from the woman, a correction to the record was made by the Baltimore PD. They stated that the suspect was apprehended and a firearm was recovered during the incident, though no one was shot. The eyewitness stated she saw a young male beginning running away from the police officers when they walked towards him.
The police officers saw the man and stopped to question him for reasons currently unknown. The woman explained that the, “Police just got out of the car and started chasing the boy.” Moreover, she stated the police officer was in the middle of the street and shot the young man in the back.
The eyewitness also said the man was unarmed. She explained that she does not believe the police’s report about the incident. There is currently an investigation being conducted on the incident.
