Battle Creek Is Battling Ratings

Battle Creek

Battle Creek is a comedy-drama on the CBS network, and has battled ratings from the beginning. The show stars Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters, who play law enforcement officers with very different points of view. The show made its premier on March 1, 2015, and with the season set to end on May 24, 2015 it will need an amazing plot to get people interested, for the show to improve ratings. Detective Russ Agnew, played by Winters, and FBI special agent Milton Chamberlain, played by Duhamel, they wind up being partners.

When the first episode was aired, the show got very poor ratings and after the second week, they fell even more. It has been only four weeks since the show began, and it is not doing any better. CBS has said they will pick Battle Creek up for a second season, but with such poor ratings Battle Creek has a battle with the to win.

Duhamel was a former male model before landing the role of Milton Chamberlain on Battle Creek. He got his start in the entertainment business as an extra in music videos with stars like Donna Summer, Christina Aguilera. Duhamel landed the role of “Ryan” on ABCs All My Children, whose actual character name was Leo du Pres. He did a long run as Danny McCoy, as the head of security of a hotel on the television series Las Vegas, where he starred alongside James Caan. He has starred in Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: The Dark Side of the Moon, as Captain William Lennox, and worked with Hilary Swank in You’re Not You, about a woman with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. With such impressive roles, Duhamel will have no problem finding work if Battle Creek loses the battle with the ratings.

Winters is a native New Yorker, born in the city, grew up on Long Island, and as a teenager lived in Scottsdale Arizona. He went to school in Phoenix and Graduated in 1982, and went to Colorado to finished college there. Winters had guest and recurring roles on Law and Order: SVU, and Law and Order: Criminal Intent, before landing his latest role. He has also had appearances on Sex and the City, Life on the Street, Homicide, NYPD Blue, and CSI Miami. Winters’ has portrayed Mayhem in the Allstate insurance commercials. Winters also starred in the movie Terminator as Linda Hamilton’s protector but falls in love with her, who played Sara Connor.

Aubrey Dollar plays the office manager, Holly Dale. She was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, made her film début in 1992 in Children of the Corn 2 as Naomi Johnson, and appeared in many other roles before landing Battle Creek.

With Baseball season started, the ratings battle for Battle Creek is going to get even tougher with, a Sunday night slot can be a tough spot for any show, especially a brand new series. Even a top show like CSI is having problems due to sports over times. The future of Battle Creek is up in the air, while it is battling the ratings for the rest of its premier season.
