A boyfriend accidentally shot his five-month pregnant girlfriend in the face on May 21 in Gadsden, Alabama. The woman was rushed to the hospital and is fighting for her life, according to an Al.com report.
The police have not released any information about the couple’s identity yet, but a GoFundMe page was set up to help the woman, who was identified as Hannah Renfroe. The 20-year-old was called “sweet, smart and beautiful” by Marie Leath, the owner of the page. It requests users to help Renfroe’s mother with her hospital bills and expenses by contributing money and reaching a goal of $10,000.
Police deputies were responding to a 911 call by a man who said that he had accidentally shot his girlfriend. The call came at around 9 P.M., Thursday night. When they arrived at the White Chapel Road residence, they found the man trying to staunch the bleeding by putting pressure on the wound. The ambulance arrived soon and Renfroe was flown to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital in Birmingham later.
Renfroe’s boyfriend was released after questioning, but the police believe that the shooting was an accident. Details about the entire incident have not been released yet.
