A Chicago man has been shot during an attempted robbery in Roseland. He is 62 years old, and did not die as a result. The bullet merely crazed his shoulder.
The incident in question happened early Tuesday morning, at approximately 5:05am as the man was waiting for a bus at a stop on the Far South Side of town, notoriously known for violence and misdeeds going down. He was in the 700 block of West 111th street; an individual attempted to rob him, but the man resisted and a bullet ended up being fired at him by the culprit, grazing his shoulder as mentioned.
After police arrived on the scene, the injured victim was taken to Roseland Community Hospital where he was shortly after pronounced as being in good condition. Even though a CTA bus also suffered damage from the shooting, authorities say that at this time there are no other reported injuries nor any other individuals involved in the matter. There is not yet any word on a suspect.
