‘Dancing With the Stars’: Double Elimination Show

Dancing With the Stars

Tonight was the first Live Results Show on Dancing With the Stars this season, and in dramatic fashion there was a Double Elimination that took place during the hour-long episode. Six celebrities remained at the beginning of the episode, but by the end, two of them were eliminated, leaving just the Top Four to go on and continue dancing next week, in their attempt to win the golden Mirrorball Trophy.

Tonight, Dancing With the Stars began with Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound, with Maddie Ziegler and Dancing with the Stars dancers Jenna Johnson and Allison Holker, dancing a fantastic special Contemporary dance that pumped the studio audience up for what was to come. Also, later in the episode, the amazing and talented singer, Josh Groban, performed a beautiful rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the iconic song Judy Garland made famous in The Wizard of Oz. As an added bonus, pop star Carly Rae Jepsen took the stage and she sang her hit single I Really Like You.

Fans of Dancing With the Stars were still talking today about the awesome perfect scores that Rumer Willis and Val received last night from the judges, with some help from Artem during their Trio Challenge dance. A few highlights from last night, including some from Rumer and Val’s performance, were shown during the episode.

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker were safe on Dancing With the Stars, as they came very close to getting a perfect score, receiving for their two dances last night 78 out of 80 possible points from the judges. Also safe, with the third highest point total awarded by the judges last night of 76 out of 80 points, was Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin and her partner, Sasha Farber. Her original, injured partner, Derek Hough, did participate in the Trio Challenge dance with Nastia and Sasha.

Coming in fourth place last night was celeb Chris Soules and his partner, Witney Carson. The judges gave them a combined score of 64 out of 80 points, placing them in danger of getting eliminated. Then, in fifth place was Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess, with just 63 overall points from the judges. That placed them, also, in danger to be eliminated.

However, the first couple who were eliminated on Dancing With the Stars was celeb Robert Herjavec from Shark Tank and his partner, Kym Johnson. They received just 62 out of 80 possible points from the judges. They gave some great performances so far this season, but their efforts to win the Mirrorball Trophy ended tonight.

Later in the hour-long Dancing With the Stars episode, after learning that Noah and Sharna were somehow safe this week, the second couple of the night who were eliminated in the Double Elimination evening were Chris Soules and Witney Carson. It was a tense, suspenseful episode of Dancing With the Stars tonight, entertaining as always, filled with excellent dancing and great musical performances, as well. The question remains, “Which of the remaining celebs will continue on to the end of the season and win the Mirrorball Trophy?” Please leave any comments below!
