Dancing with the Stars has made Hollywood royalty Rumer Willis a dance royalty. The recently concluded program ended up on Tuesday with the oldest child of Hollywood icons Bruce Willis, 60; and Demi Moore, 52, getting the gold Mirrorball Trophy with partner Val Chmerkovskiy as the winner of the show’s 20th season, after 10 weeks of amazing dance moves.
Rumer’s journey with Dancing with the Stars was not at all relaxing as the 26-year-old has to win over equally competitive contestants. The final night had her and other two strong contenders – Noah Galloway and Riker Lynch, who gave her and Chmerkovskiy a run for their shimmering suits.
On the final competition night, Willis and Lynch caught the judges’ attention, when they both got perfect scores, while Galloway was a step behind. They still have to dance once more, and had a day to showcase two different dance styles.
During the fusion dance challenge, Galloway mashed up Argentine tango and chacha with partner Sharna Burgess and together, they became very reflective. Burgess said that every dance moment with Galloway had been “epic.” Galloway “has given America so much,” and has been the center of DWTS, said Len Goodman and Julianne Hough. Italian choreographer and one of the judges, Bruno Tonioli said he is among the most inspiring persons he has ever met.
Lynch and Allison Holker were exhausted but went for another round of rehearsals for their salsa and quickstep fusion moves. Lynch’s goal is just to have fun with his partner, and indeed he had. Hough could not believe how they formulated the moves in just a day. Bruno commented Riker has a powerhouse performance and an incredible range while Carrie Anne Inaba and Goodman called him a superstar who brings joy.
The Dancing with the Stars show has made Willis a dance royalty repeatedly said that DWTS has been her life’s best experience. On their Paso Doble-Foxtrot fusion, Bruno said she is irresistible while Inaba called her the dance floor’s real deal. Hough is excited to see where her career is heading from now on, while partner Chmerkovskiy is very proud of all her accomplishments.
Galloway and Burgess were the first to be eliminated, dancing to third place, something that the former U.S. Army soldier was already more than grateful as he admitted he was surprised to have stayed until the finals. He only expected to be dancing in the show for three weeks. Dance veteran Goodman gave the finalists a heads up to be set for a “tight final.”
The actor, musician and songwriter Riker Lynch landed second place. Dancing with the Stars season 20 winner Willis was dubbed by Bruno as a “pure ballroom bliss” who might be a Hollywood royalty, but by her own merit, now a dancing royalty. Inaba called her a “pure and exquisite” dancer.
Despite getting the attention of the show’s judges and fans with consistent high scores, Willis has not changed, said Goodman; only her dancing which got so much better. Host Erin Andrews called the “Die Hard baby,” amazing. She has brought her dad in the audience to tears while her mom Moore was equally emotional during her dance performances.
Dancing with the Stars has made Willis a dance royalty and the season 20 winner expressed her gratefulness in tears when thanking partner Val who shown her confidence throughout the dance season. While she was so scared of trying and failing, her partner did not let her, as he believes in her more than anyone.
