Electric Daisy Carnival has a massive following and a long standing history. The rave festival was first held on August 29, 1992 in Los Angeles, California, at a nondescript warehouse by Steve Kool-Aid. It was later held off and on through the years, and was held again in Los Angeles in 1997 at the Shrine Expo Hall. Insomniac’s partner Philip Blaine selected ‘Electric Daisy Carnival’ as the name for their EDM festival and borrowed it from Kool-Aid’s original creation. At the beginning, the festival was held annually at various venues in Southern California like National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino, Hansen Dam in Lake View Terrace, the International Agri-Center in Tulare, Lake Dolores Waterpark in Barstow, Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park in Los Angeles.
Electric Daisy Carnival went international for the first time in 2009 when the event was held in Puerto Rico. The event expanded to other parts of the U.S. in 2010 when it was held in Dallas, Texas, and in 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada and Orlando, Florida. The event reached the shores of New York in 2012, and expanded to Milton Keynes, UK, and Chicago in 2013. In 2014, the three-day event in Las Vegas drew a crowd of more than 134,000 every single day. The Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2015 promises to be the best ever with its powerful lineup of performers.
