On the Tonight Show this Tuesday night, Jimmy Fallon’s guests were actress Anna Kendrick from Pitch Perfect 2 and actor Terry Crews, from Brooklyn 99. Both Kendrick and Crews have also been on Fallon’s Spike T.V. series, Lip Sync Battle, and have been winners on it. Jimmy Fallon played a game of Egg Russian Roulette with Kendrick later in the show. Unlocking the Truth was the musical guest of the night, sitting in with The Roots, and Nate Ruess, lead singer of fun, performed at the end of the episode.
Jimmy Fallon did his monologue, after being greeted to a standing ovation by the studio audience. Fallon joked about topics like “DeflateGate” and Tom Brady’s role in it. He played a funny song related to the scandal. “Tom Brady will be suspended four games for his alleged role in the scandal. The NFL said that his suspension might be reduced if he commits an actual crime.”
Fallon made a couple of jokes about Hillary Clinton, and said that Jeb Bush’s delay in announcing his candidacy might be hurting his chances. Fallon stated that Mike Huckabee was being questioned for his Infomercials about dietary supplements. He said that Huckabee said “I don’t have to defend myself over every little thing that I’ve done.” Fallon said “That’s what presidential elections are about.”
Jimmy Fallon then joked about Verizon acquiring AOL, and the birth of the royal baby. He mentioned that Picasso’s “Women of Algiers” sold for $179.3 million, making it the most expensive painting ever sold.
“Olive Garden has announced that they would be using their breadsticks to make their chicken parm sandwiches.” He played a funny, parody video about the limitless breadsticks that Olive Garden offers.
At his desk, Jimmy Fallon said that Rebel Wilson, Bill O’Reilly and Snoop Dogg will be on later this week. Tonight, from Pitch Perfect 2, Anna Kendrick will be on, and they will be going head-to-head in a game of Egg Russian Roulette.
“Tonight, we will be taking a look at the Pros & Cons of Having a Dad Bod.,” Fallon said. A couple of the Pros & Cons were, paraphrased. “Pro: Dad Bod is a relatively new term for someone with a round body. Con: Basically like a grown-up baby. Pro: Your wife saying ‘I like your Dad Bod.’ Con: Saying to your wife ‘And I love your Mom Bod.'”
Back from a break, Jimmy Fallon introduced his first guest, Oscar-nominated actress, Anna Kendrick. “Welcome to the show!” Fallon told her. He talked about Kendrick’s Lip Sync Battle against John Krasinski. She said “I was so nervous about it”‘ She said she wanted to sing Booty, and the producers told her that they could get J-Lo to make a cameo. She said that she “didn’t have to worry, then, because J-Lo was taking all of the attention.”
“But you won the competition,” Fallon said. “You crushed.”
Kendrick then talked to Fallon about talking to her mom on the phone on Mother’s Day. She said that she tried hard not to make any wisecracks and sound like a jerk, but her mom did not know what the # symbol meant in front of her daughter’s name. She called it a “pound” sign.
Then, Jimmy Fallon showed a clip from the movie, Pitch Perfect 2. It looks like it will be hilarious, especially for fans of the first movie. He challenged Kendrick to a game of Egg Russian Roulette after the next commercial break.
After the break, Tonight Show announcer, Steve Higgins, explained the rules of Egg Russian Roulette. The person who smashes two of the raw eggs out of a dozen on his or her head will be the loser. The first egg that Anna chose was a hard-boiled one, as was Fallon’s first choice. Then, it was Anna’s choice again. She chose a hard-boiled one, and Fallon was up for his second turn. It was a raw egg, and smashed all over the top of his head, running down his face.
Steve Higgins told Ann Kendrick “Choose wisely!” Anna selected an egg, and it was another hard-boiled one. Jimmy Fallon selected his third egg, a hard-boiled one, leaving three cooked and three raw eggs.
Kendrick then chose, finally getting a raw egg and smashing it all over her head and hair. Fallon chose an egg in the tie game, and it was…a raw egg, making him the loser.
Returning from another commercial break, Jimmy Fallon introduced the second guest of the evening on the Tonight Show, actor Terry Crews, who beat Mike Tyson in his Lip Sync Battle appearance. Fallon said that this Sunday would be the season finale of Brooklyn 99. Terry Crews did a funky dance and spin move before he took his seat.
They talked about Terry’s last appearance, when they both did a Nip Sync Battle instead of a Lip Sync Battle. Then, Fallon and Terry talked about Terry’s beating Mike Tyson on Lip Sync Battle. He said “I knew I had to bring the heat. You know, you get drunk with power! It feels so good! I was on such a high! My wife asked me to take out the garbage, and I said ‘I don’t do that.’ I could not stop watching my own performance on the DVR.”
Terry Crews said that his wife threatened to erase his performance. Fallon gave Crews a USB flash drive with his performance on it so that he could take it everywhere with him.
Then, Jimmy Fallon asked Crews about the season finale. He said “Someone is leaving the 99. That’s all I can say.” The audience groaned when Crews said that, not wanting to see any of the cast members leaving the show.
After yet another break, Jimmy Fallon introduced the show’s musical guest, two-time Grammy Award winner as part of the group fun, now with his own solo album out, Nate Ruess. He sang Nothing Without Love off of the album, AH HA. Nate has already performed it on The Voice and other shows. It was a pretty cool song, and will probably be a big hit for him.
The guests on the Tonight Show this Tuesday night were Anna Kendrick, who talked about Lip Sync Battle and Pitch Perfect 2, and Terry Crews, who defeated former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson in his own episode of Lip Sync Battle. Crews also talked with Fallon about the season finale of his comedy series, Brooklyn 99. Nate Ruess was the musical guest, and he gave an amazing performance of a song from his latest album, singing Nothing Without Love.
