Ohio Boy Shot in Face by Cousin Has Died


It was Saturday night that a 15-year-old boy by the name of Jesse Hayes was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the face by his cousin, who claimed he did not know the gun was loaded, but even after all of the medical care the teen has now died. Medical workers and police state that they did all that they could.

The boy was shot by Leavittsburg, Ohio in Trumbull County, Saturday night after he and his cousin were sitting together, drinking beers, and talking about guns. According to statements made by the 28-year-old cousin, name unmentioned, he was just showing Hayes the shotgun when he pulled the trigger and it went off. The cousin told police he thought the gun was not loaded.

Hayes was not from Ohio, but rather Cleveland, and was only in town on the weekend visiting family. Don Bishop, Police Chief of Warren Township, stated that police were investigating into the matter but no charges had yet been filed.
