Michael Gordon, who is a 24-year-old, was arrested for the alleged first degree murder of 19-year-old Taylor Clark, the SIUE student who went missing but whose body was found later. Gordon works at the truck-driving school in Hazelwood where Clark’s body was found. Police reportedly discovered Clark’s body on Tuesday. The murder occurred after the two had met on Craigslist. Gordon had been attempting to sell his car on Craigslist and after Clark expressed interest, Gordon contacted him.
Gordon supposedly shot the SIUE student a single time, according to BND. Gordon had attempted to hide the body in a wooded area that was close to where police found his car. Police are currently still searching for Gordon’s BMW. Gordon was arrested on Tuesday night but BND reports that he has not been officially charged yet.
Police did rule the killing of the SIUE student as a homicide at a press conference. Earlier today, Police Captain Tim Fagan said that the investigation was still going on and they are looking for any footage from surveillance cameras that may have crucial evidence. Police are hoping that someone will come forward who witnessed something that could help with this murder investigation.
