‘The Voice’: Sensational Six Become Fabulous Five [Recap & Video]

The Voice

On The Voice tonight, the Sensational Six will learn what their fates are, at least as far as if they will be continuing on to next week’s episodes. Based on the voting of viewers across America, one of the remaining six competitors will be eliminated by the end of tonight’s show. Potentially, that also means that one of the judges would be out of the competition, other than adding his or her comments and critiques of the Fabulous Five singers who will be moving on.

To start off The Voice, host Carson Daly ¬†introduced the coaches and he then recapped last night’s performances. He said that tonight will be a reunion, of sorts, on The Voice, with some great past performers coming back to sing, like Craig Wayne Boyd, in this hour-long episode.

Carson Daly introduced one of the past competitors, Jacquie Lee, who sang Tears Fall. It was a song written especially for her. Jacquie Lee was one of the best competitors that has ever been on The Voice, and she showed that she has not lost any bit of her amazing singing ability. She sounded AMAZING, and the audience clapped along as she sang.

Carson asked Jacquie Lee how her life has been, and she said “It’s been pretty crazy.” She is a senior, and is being home schooled now.

Then, Carson Daly read off the first of the Results. He said “America saved…from Team Pharrell…Sawyer Fredericks!” Fredericks will be moving on to next week’s shows. After Daly’s announcement of the first person saved, The Voice went to a commercial break.

When The Voice returned from the break, Carson Daly introduced another past singer from The Voice, Avery Wilson. Wilson debuted the new song, If I Have To. He sang it with a soulful and emotional touch, and he showed off his powerful vocal ability and range with this fantastic song. The audience was entranced, and clapped along as Avery sang. At the end of the song, they erupted into applause.

Then, the remaining five musical artists were brought out onto the stage, as The Voice¬†host Carson Daly got ready to read the next name. Daly said “America saved — Meghan Linsey from Team Blake!” Blake’s only artist is saved by America’s vote and will be in the Top Five to move on!

Following more commercials on The Voice, Carson Daly introduced the third past performer of the episode, Vicci Martinez. She had been a member of Team CeeLo. She sang a cool song, Bad News Breaker. She rocked the song out!

Carson then said “Let’s bring out the remaining Top Four musical artists!” The next name that he read off was that of Koryn Hawthorne from Team Pharrell. She will also be moving on into the Fabulous Five musical performers to move on.

Carson Daly introduced another past performer, Craig Wayne Boyd, from last season on The Voice. He sang one of his latest songs, I’m Still Here. Boyd sang with a deep, rich voice, bringing back memories of last season. The audience clapped along and cheered him on as he sang.

The host of The Voice, Carson Daly, announced the final name of the remaining three musical competitors who will be moving on. He said “I will reveal one more name. Here we go — America saved — Joshua Davis from Team Adam!”

Then, after another commercial break, India Carney was the first of the two who were in the Bottom Two to sing on The Voice. She sang the Pink song, Perfect, and NAILED it! Adam told her to “be happy, whatever goes down.”

Christina called her “a force to be reckoned with.” She added “You guys, you have to vote for India, get your friends on the phone!”

After that, the second performer in the Bottom Two, also from Team Christina, Kimberly Nichole, sang to try to get the “Instant Save” from the viewers of America. She sang Seven Nation Army by Jack White and had the audience ROCKING with her intense performance. They clapped along as she sang, and she WAILED on the lyrics — wow! Pharrell gave her a standing ovation.

Pharrell said “If Jack White could hear this girl sing — you are an incredible artist.”

Christina said “I’ve seen you out here, you’ve electrified every single audience with your performances. Ladies and gentlemen, vote, vote, vote for my girls!”

Carson said “Here we go — you have five minutes! The Voice ‘Instant Save’ starts right now!'”

Finally, the time arrived. Carson Daly announced who America had “Instantly Saved” by their tweets. Daly said, “America ‘Instantly Saved’ — India Carney! Congratulations!”

On The Voice tonight, the Sensational Six remaining musical artists became the Fabulous Five, as the amazing performer, Kimberly Nichole, was, sadly, eliminated when she received fewer tweets to be “Instantly Saved” than India Carney did. Now, Pharrell’s team is the only one left that has two performers on it, while the other teams each have just one musical artist remaining.
