For those who were predicting the end of the whole vampire-werewolf craze, 2015 is not the year. With the CW shows, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals slated for a comeback this fall, 2015 was CW’s most-watched season in the last seven years. Fans have lost of hopes and expectations from the Season 6 finale of The Vampire Diaries as they see some of the much-loved characters leaving or dying.
Today’s episode will see the show bidding goodbye to Nina Dobrev’s character Elena and Michael Trevino’s werewolf character, Tyler. Executive producer Julie Plec, has refused to drop hints about how the characters will meet their ends as she said that the show is happy with the decision about the way the character will depart, but did not want to drop other hints. Fans on social media are either refusing to let go of the characters or are looking forward to how they will leave.
Twitter user Brooklynn said that she will not be watching the finale as she had stopped watching the show since she found out that Nina Dobrev will be leaving the show. She said that she was not emotionally ready. Tweeter mikayla agrees with Brooklynn. She says that she knows what will happen and is not emotionally ready for it. Some fans have asked people to not tweet about the show while another one said that she will never watch The Vampire Diaries after tonight. Amanda said that the show would be boring without Dobrev in it.
There have been people who are all geared up for the show too. Kat Graham, another Twitter user, said that the show is going to be epic while Miranda Ryan prepped for it. She had her popcorn, ice cream and sound system checked much in advance so that nothing hindered her. Brandy Tate, a Twitter user said that she will have an emotional weekend as the show is tonight and she would be graduating tomorrow.
While people mentally prepare for it, the episode will take off from the cliffhanger of the previous episode. Kai stabbed his pregnant sister Jo in the stomach, while she was marrying Alaric. The viewers will find out if Jo survived and what happened to the babies. Bonnie is shown alive even after she did not follow Matt’s advice to leave the town, but Tyler and Liv, who have been thrown out of the barn during Kai’s attack, are deeply injured. Both of them are concerned for their lives and that is probably where Tyler will make a decision which will see him bidding adieu. Caroline and Stefan will probably figure out where they are going with their relationship and Stefan will realize the lengths to which his mother is willing to go. There is also some major fighting involved.
Fans, meanwhile will find out if their expectations and hopes have been met and whether they will be going back for the next season of Vampire Diaries, which will be airing on Thursdays, right before The Originals this fall. The Season 6 finale of The Vampire Diaries airs on May 14 at 8pm EDT.
